How about you adopt or buy your Whippet first and then give it a name that suits his or her personality/coloring/figure/facial expression? It's always a good laugh when you ask an owner about their dogs' name and it turns out to be something so remarkably fitting.

for a speedy dog like a whippet, i like flash, speedy, or Churchill {for church hill downs}. my neighbor had 4 greyhounds, they were army general, Lexus, Nefertiti, and Ramses.
