Why on Earth would God care what decorating scheme you used in your house?
Is there some proscription against sticking a tree in your house? Presumably most people have wooden furniture - how is it any different?
Your co-worker is insane. But sometimes it can be amusing to watch people drive themselves insane over things that are so inconsequential.

Oh boy... first tell this boy he is going to his so called "hell" for passing judgement against you, which he has no right to do.. if anything he should have given counsel not a death sentence.
Now here are the facts..
"Patron trees held special significance for the ancient Germanic tribes, appearing throughout historic accounts as sacred symbols and objects. According to Adam of Bremen, in Scandinavia the Germanic pagan kings sacrificed nine males (the number nine is a significant number in Norse mythology) of each species at the sacred groves every ninth year.
According to Church records, Saint Boniface attempted to Christianise the indigenous Germanic tribes by introducing the notion of trinity by using the cone-shaped evergreen trees because of their triangular appearance.
Other notable traditions in relation to Christmas have also been derived from Germanic paganism, including the Yule log, Christmas ham, Yule Goat, stuffing stockings, elements of Santa Claus and his nightly ride through the sky, and surviving elements of Pre-Christian Alpine traditions."
As you can see... Christmas tree, Gifts.. Santa Claus.. all that was derived from the Germanic Pagans. Nothing to do with Jesus.. nothing to do with Christianism. Actually a bit the opposite.. However.. people in their own god given right to make choices.. have chosen to look the other way and allowed this pagan traditions to enter their christian homes.. although it goes against bible teaching to participate in any form of pagan celebrations.
Jesus was not born on December 25 either.. that is another pagan celebration - based on weather and facts for the description of the bible.. he was born when the weather was warmer as the animals and the shepperds were still outside.. so it was probably in the months of September/October when he was born.
However.. if you so worry about it.. I suggest you get into some bible study with some group that will shed light into this.. and not shadows.

NO! on no account! If God/mom nature have been to make the attempt to care approximately issues like that lightning bolts may be blasting homes throughout this globe referred to as earth, chortle. a pretend tree isn't Blasphamy! it fairly is a pretend tree! the only way a pretend tree may be blasphamy is that in case you worship it. Even then the pretend tree remains no longer, you would be committing blasphamy nonetheless via your act of worship. making a music praises on an identical time as staring on the tree isn't blasphamy the two in case you're making a music to something previous. Murdering a stay tree, or putting up a pretend tree, it is extra offensive to mom nature? Culling an overgrowth and then making use of that culled tree isn't offensive the two, your doing something good then, on an identical time as utilising the waste. residing in a city it fairly is perplexing to cull a woodland so a pretend tree is advantageous. What you do, and the type you do it are the two areas of why issues that look incorrect do no longer offend mom Nature.

The following article discusses where certain "Christmas" traditions come from: http://www.witchvox.com/va/dt_va.html?a=usoh&c=holidays&id=4942
Personally - I think if you want to have a tree - have one. I think an all mighty deity would have bigger fish to fry than whether or not people choose to decorate a tree, give presents, etc... And the colored balls often put on trees do not represent heads. That's just dumb.

Jeremiah 10:2
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3* For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4* They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

Of course these Christians here would tell you uyour friend is wrong, because they are all caught up in the horrible web of lies that surround Christianity stealing pagan rituals. Christ was not born on Dec. 25th, or antime near it, and Christmas trees, the yule log, holly, etc. are all anti-Christian pagan symbols that keep you away from God.

As long as you worship Christ's birthday and not the presents under the tree and the tree itself, you'll be fine.

I think you answered your own question. As long as you don't worship the tree as a supreme being, you're fine.

Did Jesus Christ tell us to celebrate His birth? No. However, He left explicit instructions regarding how His followers are to commemorate His death (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)....http://www.tomorrowsworld.org/cgi-bin/tw/tw-mag-mobile.cgi?category=Magazine51&item=1193929572
