Fortunately, I don't need a book to tell me child rape is wrong, but the bible is full of examples where this is implicitly ok. Read the story of Lot, where he offers his virgin daughters to a sex-crazed mob as a means to protect two strangers. Lot was God's choice for an example of righteousness.

We call it statutory rape if the *child* is under eighteen, whereas the bible has numerous examples of the age of consent being much much lower. Much of the consensual activity in the bible would be criminal in our secular society.

"But whoeverso shall harm one of these little ones, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

I think that sums it up.

I don't know...Christians say that the Bible speaks out about pedophilia, but I was unaware that there was any such condemnation (since "underage" was an entirely different thing back then...of course, I would think that there would be something mentioning leaving really young children, but....well...it's the Bible...)

I don't quite buy the argument that this is tacitly covered by talking about how bad other, less harmful and morally abhorrent, fetishes are wrong...I don't believe that normal rape is covered anywhere either...

I'm pretty sure there's a specific passage that mentions that if you rape a virgin, you have to pay their father for his loss, and marry the girl.

As far as I know, that's the only proscription. As long as she's not a virgin, presumably it's all good.

I suppose a case could made that raping a prostitute would constitute theft - which is definitely a no-no. So you can only rape women who aren't dressed like they're asking for it - in direct opposition to established American legal precedent.

If you are asking this question, I would assume you are involved or know of a situation--seek help from authorities not Yahoo questions.
For every statute listed in the bible you can find a reversal of it in there as well....because it has been translated and reinterpreted so many times since its conception...lots has been kept out.
If you really want a story that speaks to it, check out Sodom & Gamorrah--they list all manner of sins.

"If" you really had some sense you would not ask stupid questions.
Everything that harms society is not recorded in the Bible. The entire Bible contains about 950 pages of 8pt type. Thats not enough to cover everything.

There is a scripture about harming children. the Bible says that it would be better for a stone to be tied around your neck and for you to be cast into the ocean, than for a little one to be harmed....I think that just about covers it.

HMMMMMMMMMMM THAT IS A VERY INTERESTING QUESTION....HOWEVER...THE BIBLE DOESNT REALLY SAY 'CHILD RAPE IS BAD' (although it is) BUT IT DOES SAY THAT ANY WRONG DONE UNTO THE YOUTH AND/OR THE ELDERLY, SHALL NOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. (NOT IN THOSE EXACT WORDS) BUT THE POINT IS...CHILDREN DONT KNOW ANY BETTER THAN WHAT WE AS ADULTS TEACH THEM SO IF SOMEONE WERE TO WORNG THEM IN ANY WAY...NOT JUST RAPE BUT THIEFT OR MURDER.....AS WELL AS THE ELDERLY...THAT PERSON WILL EVENTUALLY BE CONDEMED TO A LIFE AND DEATH THAT WONT BE SO FUN....LOL

It is called common sense. God only put certain things in the Bible (Torah) because they had no form of laws/government.

It covers ALL sexual sin when it says don't have sex outside of marriage. Marriage = 1 man and 1 woman for life. How does that leave room for child rape? I think you should be asking Muslims this question.

Whoever told you that everything that harms society is forbidden in the Bible is a moron. There are many things that are immoral and unethical that go unmentioned in the Bible.

somethings are just morally wrong, they might not be written literally in the Bible, but probably derived from it, or from any other holy book.
some things are socially and morally unacceptable, not necessarily religious.
AND SOMETHINGS ARE JUST COMMON SENSE!! like CHILD RAPE OR ANY OTHER RAPE IS JUST WRONG!!
