I actually asked this question after an hour of browsing my Q&A, I found out a few not so flattering things about myself...

Both.

I learned so many things about other religions which I would have never learned on my own. For example, I never even heard of Wicca till I started coming to this section (Hey, blame it on my country! No Wiccans here I swear!), but I've also learned so much about myself too. And to be honest, I appreciate those lessons more.

Awesome question!

Both actually - about different religions and atheism. I find I like most of the atheists and can relate a bit, having rejected mainstream religion and consider myself somewhat intelligent.

I get frustrated at close-minded jerks - no matter what they believe but I enjoy the open minded discussions more.

I came here when I had just begun questioning some things--answering questions is a bit like thinking out loud for me, and has led me to clarify many of my views.

I wouldn't say I've learned anything about atheism, but I have learned some things about some atheists.

So far I have learned that there is a lot more bigotry and hate in the English speaking world then I ever thought. Pro-religion vs Atheism, Pro-Christian vs almost everybody. JW against Christian, LDS against anyone who complains, Jews alone trying to explain why they do not accept Christ, Muslims against the world because of a few extremists, etc. I am very religious but I wonder how God grants so many different religions the right to see him differently.

More about myself. When somebody asks a question about my religion, I need to know the answer. So it makes me think about myself and my religion a lot more than I normally would.

A little of each actually - which is why I keep coming back.

Great question!

Edit: For those who say they already know themselves...are you sure there's nothing else you could learn about yourself... you've absolutely reached your limit? Perhaps there are things about yourself you choose not to explore and learn more about. Think about it. ;)

I definitely learn a lot about other people. I learn little about religion that I didn't already know. As far as learning about myself, I studiously avoid the subject.

I've actually learned some really good arguments for atheism here. I already know myself, so...

I occasionally get the opportunity to learn about other religions, but the most I get out of this forum is the opportunity to explore my own religious (or non-religious) beliefs and express them.

Great question....

Depends on my mood, if I am interested I end up following links all over the place and learning a bunch, if not, I learn about myself.
