Being a "Christian" means to be "Like Christ." And we see many stories in the NT where Jesus told/warned others of their sins. Of course, it is important to represent you Christianity when you fellowship or warn some of their sin and be prepared to defend your stance. But the Bible is very clear that we as Christians are within our rights in particular with a closer brother/sister to advise them of their sin. Yes, sometimes you may be required to guide a fellow-Christian of their sin. In particular those who may not be aware of their sin.

We are absolutely to correct those of our faith if we see them step out of bounds. The bible clearly says the older are to mentor the younger. Some young people are not aware of tattoos being against the teaching of the bible,,,or they may think it is okay to go to nightclubs,,,or to drink....if we correct them,,,it is out of love for them,,,,not to condemn them,,,if they want to take our guidance then that is wonderful,,,but if they choose to ignore it,,,then at least we tried...
But this only applies to those who are saved and really want to please God and walk the Christian way....I do not go around correcting other people....who do not even know who Jesus is..

EDITED for kellythe....Honey you don't know your bible very well...tatoos are agaist the teaching of God..

Ever read this verse from Leviticus?: I think it is pretty clear you are not to tatoo your body.

"You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh on account of the dead or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the LORD."

Remember, Jesus Christ was not a Christian. The title or words Christian or Christianity was named after him so therefore the deed or act of telling someone to behave like a Christian is man-made and comes from the Church.

Nowhere in the Bible does it tell a believer to call themselves a "Christian." Why is this???? Christ was his title and not his name. It is an old Greek word meaning- "one who is annointed or annointed one."

Don't be confused or deceived, the Bible does not tell "Christians" to do anything being the word is nowhere in the bible. It tells "Believers" to do certain things.

As long as you tell them in love. there is a fine line of being judgemental and lovingly leading someone back to God. Plus make sure your ducks are in a row or you'll look like a hypocrite.
I watched Dr phils Judgement house yesterday and there was a girl who was a bible thumper, telling everyone they are going to hell because they are doing this and that wrong. it made me so mad and embarrassed for Christians. So make sure you walk in love and not make a habit of correcting peoples sin. God is the judge.
plus, let people read the word of God and let God show them, i mean its all there!!

edit: for dreamfre (above) aauggh...this is what im talking about, we make up our own rules. Tatoos are not against God, i know some wonderful people of God who walk in love and have tatoos, lets focus on inward things such as lust, gossip, hate etc...!!!!!!! quit focusing on outward appearance!

edit: dreamdre: OLD TESTAMENT.look at the context of that verse: they were worshipping idols and were sutting themselves on that account
well in that case youll have to include ALL of the "sins" in the old testament: and tatooing is not one of the 10 commandments
Everything is permissible but not neccesarily benificial.
lets focus on more important things:
ps my hubbys tatoo is a witness of Jesus and has led people to Christ: is that a sin?
