Pagan is an umbrella term that includes many non-Abrahamic religions wherein more than one deity is worshiped. They're often nature based religions.
BTW - I hope you don't believe everything you see on TV. From what I could tell from the commercials (I think it was the preview for the exorcism one) - Paranormal State is basically the alleged "occult" all sensationalized for your amusement and shock. :)

Pagans in general believe in the religions of pre-Christian worlds and civilazations. Nope never used a different accent. I don't even know Old Norse. God has nothing to with my religion and....I have no idea where A&E comes into the question....

'Pagan' is the word Christians use for polytheists (i.e. people who believe in more than one God) or, in another sense, anyone who isn't Christian or Jewish or Muslim. In the strict sense of the word, it's incorrect for a person to call himself a pagan. The most common form of paganism in the US today is Wicca.
Some pagans do believe in angels, in fact many of the things in Christianity are borrowed from paganism--Christmas, the eucharist, etc.etc. (In fact the word 'Easter' is the name of a pagan goddess!) Pagans borrow from Christianity just as early Christians borrowed from paganism.

Paganism is not a single organized religion. It refers to a nearly infinite number of nature-based religious practices, usually polytheistic.

Speaking as a Wiccan, some Wiccans incorporate Christian mythology into their erecting the Temple rite.
I think it's like mixing champagne and red bull, something that only a teenager might find appealing.

Some pagans even believe and practice parts of Christianity. I'm not one of them. I am a Neo-pagan whose beliefs have Buddhist leanings. :)
To each his own, eh?
