I use fresh sirloin steak & grind it up myself with my meat grinder, add a little grill seasoning. pepper & other miscellaneous seasonings & put the burgers on the grill......preferrably an outdoor grill with moistened mesquite wood chips wrapped in foil & in the BQ or even on my indoor grill. I NEVER press down on the burger as this only makes the juices run out causing a less juicy burger. I press nice & firmly on the burger patty to make sure it stays in form before I start cooking & they come out 2die4!!! I put the top on after I turn over the burgers, just after the cheese & cover it. YUMMY! I add onion soup mix at times, but I prefer a more pure burger. My burgers will never even come close to tasting like meatloaf, which is a whole other story. lol

My Super Burgers:
1lb ground beef
1/2 cup oatmeal
2 Celery stalks finely chopped
1/2 of a small yellow onion finely chopped
1 beaten egg
2tbs Worstershire Saucce
3 med size Youkon potatoes 1/4 inch slices
2 -3 med sized carrots 1/4 inc slices
salt and pepper to taste
tin foil squares for each patty
can be done in the oven at 375 degrees for about 25-35 minutes or on the bbq for 35 min on medium coals.
Mixing the hamburger, oatmeal, celery, onion, egg and WS in a medium to large size bowl, don't over mix as the hamburger will become "tough and chewey".
Layer the Youkon slices on the tinfoil then the onion slices and carrots, can add celery here too if you like, then place the patty on top and make an envelop with the foil.
Season AFTER its cooked with salt and pepper to avoid over drying. Served with Sweet Tea and Strawberry Red White and Blue shortcake.

Enjoy!

I am giving you the #1 most tasty burger recipe in the whole world which until now has been kept an utter secret--Debbie Burgers!!

4 burgers

1 lb ground beef (80-90% lean)
seasoned salt to taste
cracked black pepper, be generous
1 egg, beaten
salt the egg
1/2 bag Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, broken up, any flavor
1 onion (I grate mine to hide from my son)
Liquid smoke--1/2 bottle
Worcheshire sauce 1/2 tbsp

Break up goldfish, soak in liquid smoke and egg. Put everything else together, then add eggs/goldfish, etc. Form patties and place on butcher paper, one on top of another. Freeze. Do not defrost. Grill the next day. Don't overdo the cooking. You want it to be juicy.

I made these for 90 young people at the church. They loved them! E-mail me if I've been unclear about any of the instructions. Enjoy!!!

This makes about 4 patties more of less.

1lb ground beef
1lb ground lamb
1 tablespoon salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, organo, and cream
2 tablespoon dijon mustard
1 little garlic
2 shallot, diced and minced.
unsalted butter/vegetable oil to coat pan

Combine all ingredients to food processer and make the patties about 3 inches length and 2 inches height. Cook in a cast iron skillet for 7 minutes for medium rare to medium. Butter on pan and vegetable oil

Salsa:
12 cherry tomatoes, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus additional kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, for seasoning
1/2 cup cooked fresh corn or thawed frozen corn kernels
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro leaves
2 teaspoons olive oil
Additional kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Burgers:
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 small red bell pepper, finely chopped
1 tablespoon store-bought or homemade Creole spice mix
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 pound ground turkey
Freshly ground black pepper

To make the salsa: Toss the tomatoes with the salt and drain in a colander for 15 minutes. Combine the tomatoes, corn, lime juice, garlic, cilantro, and olive oil in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper and toss well.
To make the burgers: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and red pepper and cook, until softened, about 5 minutes. Cool to room temperature.

Combine the onion, pepper, Creole spice mix, salt, and turkey in a large bowl. Season with pepper. Mix well and form into 4 large patties. Heat the remaining tablespoon of oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Place the burgers in the skillet and cook until well browned, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer to the oven and cook until firm to the touch, about 6 minutes. Serve topped with the salsa and with Ruthie's Summer Camp Zucchini and Oven Baked Rosemary Chips.

I make mine one of three ways:

1. stir two tablespoons full of Worcestershire sauce into a pound of ground beef and then make that into patties and grill 'em., or

2. Add half a packet of dry onion soup mix and a half teaspoon full of ground cayenne to a pound of ground beef and make patties and grill 'em' or

3. I make a meatloaf instead, adding a cup of quick oats, one whole egg, three tablespoons full of medium salsa, a half teaspoon full of ground cumin and a quarter teaspoon full of garlic powder to that pound of ground beef. I mix it well, bake it in a loaf pan at 325 degrees for an hour and a half, let it cool and slice it up for sandwiches.
