Hi there...truly the only way to prevent your kitten from using the door is to change to an electronic/magnetic type door where your dog wears a collar that releases the door for in/out privileges. This is also ideal to keep uninvited animals from coming into the home as well.
Here's one product: http://www.moorepet.com/Electronic-and-Automatic-Pet-Doors-s/24.htm

your cat will never stop going out if given the choice and in another month he will be able to get over the fence. you are doing the right thing by trying to keep him indoors. if your dog is doggy door dependent then get one with that is activated by a collar that your dog wears. do this asap becuase your cat is waaaaaaaaay to young to go out even if you have a fence. also other animals will not be able to get in. adult cats can easily climb or jump over yur fence however high it is and enter your home. you cannot deprogrem him because they love being outdoors but it really is not safe at all. and cats are smart i have absolutly no doubt that he taught himself how to use it. i am sorry i dont know the name of any of these special doors but i can guarentee that someone on yahoo answers does ( people are always reccomending them) good luck and take care of the problem as soon as you can get your hands on a collar activated door. pay the extra cash for over night delivery or get one at a store near you if you can. good luck and if you dont get an answer on this question about a brand name do a search online or ask another question referencing a collar activated doggy door

You can weigh the door down so that it's too heavy for the kitten to get through, but not your other pets. From here you can use training systems like squirt bottles to deter him from using it. But really, if you have an open access to the outside for your other pets, there will be no stopping the younger one once his grows. I'd advise blocking off the door, or accepting the fact that he will also be an outdoor cat.

Stand outside the doggy door where the kitten can't see you and when he comes out dump a bucket full of water on his head. You may have to do this a few times before he gets the idea that going outside means he gets wet. That's how my aunt's cats learned not to use the dog door
But my aunt got hers the first time they tried to sneak out, you may never fully break your cat, you might as well let him join the other cat as indoor outdoor

well unfortnately cats are too smart to be deprogrammed. Especially now that he likes the doggy door. What you can do is put a gate up so he cant get to the doggie door at least for now, until you are ready for him to start using it. Unfortnately if your dogs cant jump the gate then they will have to ask you to go out. Your cat though can probably jump it.

You can't. once they learn, they will use it. When home keep it closed and you'll have to let the dog out through the door. I Have on installed in my bedroom. The cat will run for it but now I just close the bedroom door, the dog can get in, the cat can't get out.

You can't.
He's one smart kitty, who's out-witted you!
Good of you to have him as a strictly indoors cat though, as all mine are,.. so much safer.
But now that he's found a way out, doubt he can be deprogrammed!
You got a smarty there!
Gd. luck.

Either lock it or make him scared of it. You can spray him with water or stamp your foot.
