That's the cat nature. My cats won't drink from a bowl, either. I have a white pitcher that I use in the bathtub to rinse my hair, and I keep it full of water. That's what my cats drink from. And then I have a little fountain machine that I got at petco that filters and re-runs the water all day. They're not thrilled with that, but they will drink from it. It was about $15.

Kitties all have different preferences just like us!
I have had a circulating water fountain (Drinkwell) for 6 years now. The dog and all but one of the cats love it. But the oldest kitty still insists on water from the bathroom sink. The weather is cold here now and that water dripping is icy, but she still drinks from there, so I have started leaving the hot water dripping.
Also, if you feed canned food, add a little water to it to make it mushy or soupy. This serves two purposes, first to keep the food from drying out so fast and second, gives kitty more water in their diet.
Purrs to you and kitty.

get your cat a fountain. my cats will not drink standing water and i think this is pretty common. cat fountains are well worth it and not that expensive. search online for "drinkwell pet fountain" my cats drink about 7 times as much water. please keep your bathroom door closed so your cat does not drink out of the bathtub. they ingest soap residue and whatever you use to clean your bathtub. search for "steps for pets" they carry the drinkwell pet fountain for like $40. there are also cheaper ones you can get but this one oxygenates the water. most cats are chronically dehydrated becuase they do not have a strong thirt drive and are adapted to consume water when they eat. this problem is seriously amplified by the fact that most people feed dry food. please feed canned food or a raw diet. (do some research on the food thing i could go on for hours but you did not really ask so i dont want to bug you go to Aunt Jeni's homemade for life for raw and try Wellness or Instinc t for canned they are both grain free withch is really important.) but in any case the fountain wil do the trick guarenteed good luck

I gave up on that a long time ago, lol. My cats drink from the bathtub and the toilet... there's not much of anything I can do about it because even if we always remember to put the toilet lid down, they still drink from the faucet in the bathtub.
If your cats have no other source of water though, they will definitely drink from a dish. If you're able to keep them from the bathtub somehow (it's impossible, I know), they will drink water from a dish because they're simply thirsty.

This is because in the wild your cat wouldn't drink at the same place they get food. They don't associate the two activities like we do, and like to "hunt out" water supplies.
The secret is to put their water bowl in a different location to where you feed them.
Try putting a couple of water bowls in different areas around your house and find out which they prefer. Our cats drink the bowl in our living room dry every day, but hardly ever touch the one we put by their food.

I had the same problem. Once I got one of those circulating water dishes, my cats started drinking water from it.
If you feed canned food, your cat won't be seen drinking much water since they get most of it from their food. If you feed dry, it is very important to present the water in a way your cat will drink it or they will become dehydrated.
Get a water dish that circulates the water, like a fountain type (can get from about any petstore).... close off access to the bathroom. It is not safe for her to be drinking water that way (think about the cleaning products you use and chemicals in your beauty products).

I got mine a recirculating water dish with a filter. He doesn't use sinks, showers or bathtubs anymore and loves that dish.

One of my cats is same. She likes to drink from dripped tub faucet, I just put a basin below it and she drinks there too.
Another cat likes running water from sink.
If goes back to their instincts when they drank from running creeks, etc... I heard.
At least it's fresher than stagnant water in puddles or the open water dish!
Doesn't bother me.
