So I'm quite sure that there are a few Planned Parenthoods in Ottawa, Ont. (Canada). However, I'm not sure what they do there... Their website (www.ppottawa.ca/ ) isn't working, all the links seem to be broken. Can anyone tell me what it's like, or what goes on at most Planned Parenthoods? I'm very curious... plus, I'm sexually active and my doctor is away for about a month, with no way to contact him.

I go to planned parenthood, they are pretty much the same as an OBGYN.
you can get bc pills there, check ups, counseling, abortion services. There are nurse practitioners and doctors there .. its no different from your doctor.

it accepts insurance which in canada you dont have to worry about, but if you have to pay its reasonably priced.

and it is all confidential if you are underage .. you parent do not have to know about it ..

www.plannedparenthood.com explains it all .. and the site works.

That is odd. I was able to get on the website. This is what it says on the home page

Planned Parenthood will offer you some counseling on safe sex and they also will provide birth control to you. If needed, they will provide a discount for any medication (or sometimes it's free).

You may be given a pelvic exam (PAP, etc.) but often times it is with a midwife and they are wonderful (and gentle) practitioners.

It's better to go check it out than end up with an unwanted pregnancy.

Good luck!

Try a broad search on yahoo for Planned Parenthood. Most all of them are the same I would assume. Other PP websites would have all the information you would need.

Depends on whether it's just a contact point or a medical facility. Most of the larger facilities provide prenatal care, STD care, counseling, referrals. The two different ones I was at did not have abortions at those locations.

In the US they are a good resource for information relating to sex , STDs, and pregnancy. You can get tested for pregnancy and STDs there. You can also get a regualar exams, even if you have no insurance. Depending on the center, they can either help you with related counseling or refer you to a place that can.

Do not go there my best friend received bad services from pph, the regular physician was out and they called in a replacement who was not a reputable dc as most pph docs are not, well she ended up having a unneccessary surgery.
