Little dogs generally pee alot, its a sign of submission. Definately take him on socialization play dates. to a park, to a couple gatherings. Keep him on a lead but let him discover things himself, so he can learn that everything isn't bad.

You need to socialize him. My dog would do this when she was a pup. It's called submissive urination. If you socialize your dog, you can build his confidence, and eventually he will not feel the need to urniate when he meets people.
First of all, never correct him for peeing when he meets someone. It's not a housebreaking issue. Correcting him will only make him feel worse about himself, and make him feel like he has to pee more. Just ignore the peeing. When he feels more confident, he will not do it anymore.
Secondly, socialize him. Try to take him everywhere you go, and meet as many new people as possible, and explore as many new places as possible. At first, he is going to be very shy, so move to a place away from the main action, and walk around, maybe work on some obedience commands until he feels comfortable. Try to get closer to people, give treats and praise, and act like this is SO fun and amazing. Reward any show of interest or bravery from him. When you meet people, try to keep the person low-key (like not a hyper scary person), and drop treats like this is Christmas morning.
The more people you meet like this, the more your dog is going to have a positive association with meeting new people and going to new places. It will build his confidence, and he will start to pee less and less upon meeting people.
Third thing you can do to help your dog is enroll in an obedience class. Because mastering new commands will build your dog's confidence tremendously. Any new command or behavior that you can teach your dog will help him feel more confident. Like "look what I can do!"

You will have to socialize him more to new people and situations. When people ask to approach him ask them to appraoch but to ignore him until he feels comfortable enough to start to initiate contact by either smell or touching them. When people come to your home same thing have them ignore him until he is okay with the situation...reward him for being good and not peeing. It could either be an excitment pee problem or he is actually doing it out of fear and anxiety (submissive peeing)...either way he is doing it because he feels like he doesn't have control in the situation.

I've known a lot of Dachsunds who pee all over the place. I think it's a breed-specific thing. It sounds like he may have some emotional issues. Take him to the vet and explain the problem. He may have an anxiety disorder, for which there are medications. Good luck!

It must be gradual and patiently.
I've rescued dogs from abused/bad and unknown backgrds. that did the same.
It takes time for them to re-gain trust and diminish their anxiety and fear of humans.
Socialize CASUALLY the dog as much as possible. Take him everywhere you can and as often, make it a casual outing where he will be de-programmed to be "antsy" with ppl.
Socialize him with other dogs, etc. too.
Gd. luck.
Remember time, patience and understanding.

I had 2 male canines at one factor, the two in tact, and that they did the comparable project. the extra youthful dogs could mark some the place, then the older dogs could scent it, mark on suitable of it, then scent returned to make confident it grew to become into coated. i think of its a dominance project, because of the fact the older dogs grew to become into form of the boss between the two.

He needs to build his confidence. He is very uncertain, make sure you socialize him as much as possible. Take it little by little but hopefully in time he will gain the confidence he needs. Oh and don't forget to tell him how great he is everyday :)
