I think so. But at the same time, I applaud their faith. So much of religion is based on faith and they have faith that it is the infallible word of God. I believe there is no humanly way possible that there are no errors in the bible given the many translations, additions, omissions...etc but I still admire their faith.
One example in the error of translations is looking at all the new translations that have been made in the last 10 or so years. Even attempting to change it to modern language has changed some of the meaning.

Yes, I believe that some do wear it as a badge of honor. However, I live by the creed, "Study to show thyself approved." It's much more logical. My faith hasn't waned, because I accept that some things are untruths in the Bible. People must be willing to evolve with their religion, as we have evolved since the beginning of time.

Wisdom is accepting the teachings of the great Holy Books after meditation and prayer, this includes the Bible and the Gita etc...
Evangelicals worship the letter of the bible and are, there-fore, idolaters. They pick each and every word as a holy utterance and spend all their time thinking and dwelling on it. This is worship and therefore idolatry.
It is funny that they are the very thing the most decry.

Yes, they do. Yes, they are, sometimes.
Apparently some people are afraid of applying rational thought or analytic thinking to their beliefs. I wonder why all the time. I have my theories, but of course they're only my opinions.
The theory that seems borne out most often is that they're afraid. They're afraid that if they look too close at their belief system, they will see that it's false.
To me, that's a weak faith. I don't think I could believe in, much less love and follow, a God that couldn't stand up to my puny questions.
I know everybody is weak in faith sometimes -- esp. me -- so I try and be patient with them even when they get in your face and judge you based on their fundamentalist opinions.
Sometimes I even succeed!

I have examined many of the claims to which you refer and the "evidence" that you speak of is seriously wanting.
