your BEST and WORST experience this Christmas season with shoppkeepers, employees, customer service reps, the public at large.

People either seem to be extremely filled with the joy of the season and are carrying it over into their work or they are very stressed out and take it out on those around them. I've seen very few neutral ones.

One lady in the food industry used the Christmas stress to excuse her rude behavior while another man who was really overloaded at the front desk handled everything like Jolly Ole' St. Nick and had us all (strangers) laughing and glad we were sharing time together.

I'd love to hear your EXTREME experiences here. And if you found a neutral one, let us hear that too. Whatever you all share will bring us all closer together, I'm sure.

Christmas ho hos to you, as well as Hostess ones.....
:)

Christian... & LOCUST...
You guys, I'm asking for your observation of people's extremes in behavior on the job during this season. However you want to describe it.
2 pts to each of you.
But no best answer to either, yet.
Go interact with the public who are at work and HIT THE EDIT BUTTON and report back here, quick now. There's two good elves. :)

Madmac: Wow what a great example of both extremes in one situation.
I'm so glad you are lapping up the 'milk of human kindness'.

Billy B: You always share proof of how well God's got us covered if we don't let negativity get the better of our thinking.
God put the 'stamp of approval' on your thoughts at the PO, it seems from your sharing. Thanks so much, what a warm fuzzy. Blessings my brother in Christ :)
PS Check out Virginia's pertinent Q on being completed in Christ.....

Jelesais: Wish you could give us a specific incident of good cheer you experienced. But my Santa hat is off to you for spreading cheer wherever you go. And a thumbs up too :

Virginia: Under ANY other circumstance you get Best Answer. You gave a worst that I think bears witness to how God moves all of us around to inspire each other, and a best that warmed my heart with the truth of peace and love in action, as well as you had me ROFLOL with your neutral parking lot (God's been giving me open places close to the front of the store, so it's been a gift for me and not neutral at all, but I must say, I've not seen any disgruntled drivers) But dad gets the 10 pts. just because it is Christ honoring season.
(Gee, now I still want to be able to give out a tie for Best Answer, each gettin 5pts.) But I did STAR your Q @ being complete in Christ. You have a beautiful way of sharing. Thanks. :)

I'll get the hang of this yet. I'm leaving the Q open for a bit more to see what else is shared. I'm gonna go eat my chile made with lentils instead of the other more accepted type of chili beans.
Hmm, is it still chili (both are correct spellings according to the dictionary)? I used chili seasonings. Tastes pretty great to me. :)

MadM, I use barley alot too. But I'm onto something with the lentils. And everyone that has eaten it so far agrees that it is, indeed, chili, however spelled. :)

Well, I give this some more time, just to see who else is out there and cares to answer...

i have been bugging my ex-wife for weeks about presents for our daughter as i am on the other side of the country and dont know what she has needs or wants. yesterday i was emailed a link to a waldorf style play structure that she really wants and that the ex cannot afford. no problem i says to my self. marry chrisstmas to my munchkin.

problem ... the manufacturer is back ordered untill march and none of the ware houses or retailers have any instock. bahh!
i found a retailer on ebay that claimed to have have them to ship in 3 days. upon calling her to make sure she tod me that the factory (who i had spoken to earlier in the day) built the items as ordered and shiped from the factory and that they would leave with in three days. when i asked how this was possible if the factory is back ordered and explained that this was not a situation where later was an option. santa doesnt leave rainchecks. she shot back with " are you just calling to harass me? " and then hung up on me. fooey.

i then recieved a call from a man who had heard about my quest from a waldorf school in california (i am in NJ). he said that he did not have one but could easily build one and have it ready for christmas and hed doit for the same cost as the factory. i was stunned. i didnt realize that people like this still existed. a complete stranger , not a buisness, just a guy that can work with wood stepping up to the plate to help make a christmas gift for a stranger and in the process making a child very happy and keeping a father in his daughters good graces.

mr jay... you are truely a hero. may your holiday be blessed

edit- call it what you like, as long as it is delicious. lentils sounds good, also try cooking some barley (like rice) and mixing with the chili soooo good.

I stopped at the post office the other day on my way to an important meeting. All I needed to do was mail a letter and when I got there the stamp machine had been taken out of service. There was a long line waiting for the Post office attendants. I thought I am either going to have to miss the meeting or I am going to have to leave and then come all the way back later. Just as I was about to leave a young man who was at the front of the line asked me if all I needed to do was buy one stamp? After I replied yes,he was good enough to let me ahead of him.

There are still a lot of good people in the world.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY

As with any season, Christmas brings its own stressors. Personally, I try to maintain perspective all year long and enjoy what's going on. Almost everyone I encounter is therefor pleasant. I don't know what I'd do if they weren't, but I hope I'd try to make them smile. Just think, they're there because they have to be in order to support their families, pay their bills, etc. Add the fact that they get overwhelmed by customers at this time, they have a right to be cranky, but most aren't. My Santa hat is off to each and every one of them, and to you too for noticing that this should be a time of good cheer.

Worst experience - When I put money in the Salvation Army's red kettle and the man did not say anything, not even thank you. I asked him if he could not even wish me a Merry Christmas and he said he didn't want to ruin my holidays. I told him wishing me a Merry Christmas would not ruin my holidays, and I stood there waiting for him to say something. He finally said "Merry Christmas", and I wished him the same.

Best experience - Employees of a local store caring enough for those in need to put boxes in the front of the store for donations for the Matthew 25 ministries in my town.

Neutral experience - Trying to find a parking spot at the big discount stores.
