they teach that the whole Bible was written only for the 144,000 referred to as the "annointed", so they do not believe it can be read and understood by average person.?

How insulting this must feel to the JWs that are not in the "annointed" group, or is it?

J& CH: I admit that I do not know about them that much since I have never been a JW. That is why I ask. I do not slander, you just take it that way because you are rude yourself.

Yes they do believe one can understand it they just believe that the "new earth" is good enough. The JW's actually teach that one needs to never read the Bible because to read the Watchtower is the way to truth. The Bible to them is actually superfluous.

The Watch Tower (9/15/1910)

"The six volumes of SCRIPTURE STUDIES are practically the Bible topically arranged . . . they are practically the Bible itself . . . if anyone lays them aside and ignores them and goes to the Bible alone, though he has understood his Bible for ten years, our experience shows that within two years he goes into darkness. On the other hand if he merely reads the SCRIPTURE STUDIES with their references and had not read a page of the Bible, as such, he would be in the light of the end of the two years because he would have the light of the Scriptures . . . We might remark that quite a number of the friends in the Truth are making it a a rule to read twelve pages of the SCRIPTURE STUDIES a day and that we do not know anyone who has been following this course who has gone out of the Truth. We are not wishing in this to say any against one's poring over chapters (of the Bible) that he does not understand, hoping that he might get some truth . . . but the chances are . . he will have it all wrong"

Yes the whole Bible (66 books) is verbally inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) Now if you will follow thier formulated doctrine then its really hard to understand the Bible by itself. Now take it a face value as what the Bible say literally so that the 144,000 are purely Israelite people evenly taken from the 12 Tribes of Israel. Read over and over, again and again the book of Revelation which is the perfect portrait of the literal Israel of the Old testament. They are trying to spiritualize this but the truth of the matter is that they are just simply telling "Spiritual-lies". Take it all at face value and you can easily understand the Bible and its 3 classes of people mentioned by St. Paul as the the Jew, the Gentile, and the Church which is the Body of Christ in our present dispensation. (Romans 11:13; Ephesians 3:1-11 etc.)

there are a number of solutions under or above that coach that to JWs the Watchtower magazine shouldn't in any respect be puzzled or challenged. a million." there is not any ought to question the Watchtower" hahahahaha! and from some guy that calls himself wellness practitioner no much less! hahahahahahahahaha! 2. "The Watchtower is in simple terms reflecting what the Bible says." hahahahahaha! however the actuality that the WT has replaced lots proves that it maximum easily would not mirror the Bible. Others, i don't experience like addressing because of the fact it is in simple terms repetition of what they are programmed via the Watchtower to assert!

That is totally incorrect. We do not believe that the whole bible was written only for the 144,000, I've never heard of such. I've been a witness for 20 years and I've have never ever got that impression. The bible is and can be understood by an "average" person. And I am not the least bit insulted because I'm not of the anointed, we all have the hope of living in an earthly paradise, and that's what I'm looking forward to. That's not factual. But, I'm glad that you took the time to ask that question, rather than believing what you hear.

You would be correct Nina. The average person can't understand the Bible so they have "literature"...I mean additions.

You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deut. 4:2

Vot...

How is a question an insult?

JC & H...I didn't see slander...why don't you be a big boy and do research all by yourself and find out how bad you've been deceived. Till then, cry me a river, build a bridge, and get over it! That goes for you to Vot.

I do work at a coal mine, so you can both let me know when I can bring a dozer and haul truck to hall away your ignorance.

The Annointed would understand it better than the rest. The non-annointed still find the ressurection, and a paradise on Earth in the World to Come.

It's a common myth that JWs feel that everyone by the Anointed are damned, but that's simply not true. I still feel they have some odd beliefs, but they're not as radical as people make them out to be.

Nina, Thank you for your question. I had a brother who was a slave to the Watchtower Society for twenty years, and it was only through prayer for over twenty years that he has finally begun to come out of the brainwashing. This cult uses guilt to control there people.

Pray for them, God has more room in heaven.

I always wondered why would I even want to bother being a JW if only 144,000 were going to heaven. Just another false teaching.

Some of the responses you got to this question were wonderful.

What a good wittiness you are.

The "Jehovah Witnesses" do not believe in the King James version of the Bible. Their founder wrote his own bible. It is called "The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures". In other words it is the aurthors interpertation of "The Bible" most of us read.
It was not written only for the Annointed Ones to understand. All Witnesses believe they understand every word of it. Thats why they go out door to door "Poineering and Witnessing". The Jehovah Witnesses believe only 144,000 "Annointed" people will go to heaven, the rest of us will stay on earth in "Paradise".

No, that is incorrect. True, they teach that the entire Bible is inspired by God (Jehovah) but they never insinuate that it was only meant for the 144,000 that are going to heaven (the anointed). The Bible is God's Word, meant for everyone to read and understand. It is VERY understood by ALL of Jehovah's Witnesses. There are many misconceptions about JWs so it is good that you inquired.

Yeah, for the JW's, all the tickets have already been sold!
That's why I'm glad I'm not a JW. They forget that little part after the 144,000 that mention a group "without number" that gets into Heaven. That's us.

The 144,000 is symbolic, it represents the 12 tribes of Judah x the 12 Disciples x 1,000 (meaning "a lot"). In other words, all the believers of the OT and NT who are saved by their faith.
