Yes. Fanatical Muslims should finally get it right about music. If music is beautiful and emotional and spiritual and written for God, like the music of Bach, for instance, it is food for the spirit. If music is filled with bad words about sex and violence, like gangster rap, then I agree with the Taliban. All classical music should be halal, as well as all jazz, gospel, folk, country and rock and roll, as long as if there are lyrics, they are decent.

It is true for non-Muslims who do not know the power of the Surahs of Quran.

God created our souls (spirits) from his own Noor (light). Best food to strengthen our soul is Quranic Ayahs. One who gets the taste of listening the Ayahs of Quran with correct understanding, will never care for any kind of music. The language of Quran has its own music that sooths and relaxes the soul and takes the believer closer to God which is the ultimate goal of life on earth for a Muslim.

The next one is link for studies of Quran. Click "Recitation" and listen the music you will feel when some one is reciting Quranic Ayahs. There is no music played with the recitation in background.
