I hear this a lot in Japanese anime, whenever the characters are swearing. I assume it means damn it or something, but i want to get the proper meaning, pronunciation and spelling. Thank you.

ちくしょう(chiku shou)
My dictonary says.

Damn it all
For Chrissake [Chrisake]!
brute beasts
brute creation
etc...

They're saying "CHI-kushou" and it pretty much means damnit like you thought. It literally means beast or brute according to my dictionary but "damn" is its slang use, weird how that worked out...
