Being a pilot, I don't consider myself a daredevil. Flying is quite safe -- safer than driving.

You can do stupid and dangerous things in an airplane, same as you can do in a car or on a motorcycle. Doing so, increases your chances of injury or death.

I have a private pilot license and own my own small airplane. I fly as much as I can and what I learnt from it is respect for safety and procedures. I am certain that my pilot experience has made me a better car driver and ... many other things too. So, I am certainly not a daredevil.

Here is something my flight instructor did to me: He asked me to do a routine left-right hand coordination test that requires much concentration. He told me that it was very important. As I was doing the test, he asked me how much is 2.5 times 2.5. After answering that rather slowly, he asked how much is 3.5 times 3.5. I told him I couldn't do both the coordination test and the calculation. He then said that if I couldn't I could forget my pilot license all together. I said it didn't made sense but ... so must it be.
Then he said: Okay, you've passed the test which was ... your ability to concentrate on the primary task when in stress.
That's a teaching I have used a lot in my life and I am passing it to you now. Always define task number one and stay on focus!

In the 1950s, cabin crew members were called "stewardesses" after the tradition of ocean liners. Now they are called "flight attendants," and may be either women or men.

Professional pilots and air crew members fly day in and day out for decades on end without incident or accident. Aviation is actually one of the safest occupations in existence.

So there is nothing dare-devilish at all about occupations that involve flying, and all persons involved strive for the highest standards of safety for crew and passengers.

Please take some time to learn the truth about this, and to realize that pilots and air crew members are first and foremost dedicated to safety.

Considering the fact that flying is statistically a lot safer than driving, or even walking across the street. Would you consider commuters and pedestrians daredevils too then?

There called Steward (kind of a mean name) Flight Attendant, or Cabin Crew Member.

The job is definetly not dangerous, its safer than most jobs in the world!
