When you are at home, use your sprays and candles. The workplace is no place for these items.

If the bank has a bad smell, then ask with your manager to fix.

Yes, it would be inappropriate and dangerous to have a candle burning behind the teller line. Yes, it would still bother your co-worker's allergies since it would still smell the same way, yet be continuous. I don't like it either. If febreez is illuminating the odors rather than masking them, why does it have an odor at all?

It is not only inappropriate, it is unsafe to have an open flame in a place of business. Especially considering the amount of flammable paper you work with, a lit candle would be highly dangerous.

And yes, if scented sprays irritate her allergies, scented candles might bother her as well.
If you want a pleasant scent, keep a small bottle of hand lotion at your station, and apply the lotion whenever you want a scent (a light dab on your lip under your nose will also keep the scent near you).

I don't know if it would necessarily be inappropriate but it could be dangerous. Get one of those new flame less candle things they're cool looking.
And i just have to say this, I'm an intern teller at my high school Utah Community Credit Union opened a branch here and I work there during lunch. I get a five hundred dollar scholarship at the end of the year. It is a blast!

If she is allergic to Febreez, she may well have allergies to perfume scents in general. Instead of spraying or lighting candles, why don't you just bring in a small personal air freshener like the glade glass pieces. Since it doesn't emit a spray or smoke into the air, it probably would work for both of you.

I've seen it done at places I have worked. It is slightly dangerous. But, I think that smoke and scent is going to bother your co-worker more. Just learn to live with not spraying air fresheners or burning candles at work. It is obtrusive if someone wants their job to smell like a scent they choose-certainly if someone has allergies.

Think about it, this woman with a medical problem shouldn't have to suffer just because you like to smell berries or vanilla.

Candle....money...paper...open flame...small space....me thinks its not the best of ideas. However, you can get the little hot plates you plug in , sit the candle on and it melts. Smells just like you are burning it without that annoying flame.

Ahh, the stink of dirty dollar bills combined with body odor from dead skin bacteria.
Get you manager on the stick.
Someone is falling down on the job.
Have them change the air filters in the place more often.

I'd get a Whisp or something. I wouldn't risk burning the bank down for good smells!
