I already have a larger bridal party than I want, but I want to associate my youngest sister in there some how. She'll be 11 when the event happens. I was thinking maybe a junior bridesmaid, but I have 4 already.
Is there any other responsibility I can give her?

4 normal bridesmaids...I would never leave her out of something like that.

My sister was 14 when we got married and she was a junior bridesmaid. I have a maid of honor and 3 bridesmaid's. My sister walked down the aisle just prior to the flower girls. She was not matched up with any usher/goomsmen. She left the church after the flower girls.

Yes, I would have her as a junior bridesmaid. I think 4 regular bridesmaids and one junior bridesmaid is not too many...unless you are also have a maid of honor on top of that. It would bring your total up to 5 or 6 then.
Otherwise....have her hand out programs (if you are having them.) What about lighting candles (if a church ceremony) at the beginning of the service.
If you decide to give her another duty other than junior bridesmaid, make sure to get her a small corsage.

How do you already have four junior bridesmaids and not one of them is your own sister? Regardless, I would think that it would hurt her feelings to see girls of similar age included in your wedding party but not her. I would add her as a junior bridesmaid.
EDIT - Okay, so you only have four bridesmaids, even more reason that you can easily add your sister as a junior bridesmaid. My best friend did that for her sister (she was 10 at the time) and she really loved feeling included in the big day.

What a lovely thought. Just make her a junior bridesmaid and be happy that you have such a close relationship with her.
She could read a poem or Bible passage as her Jr Bridesmaid duty.
Or if she's musical, she could play or sing.

I was having the same dilemma with my lil sister....since i already had a large wedding party I decided that she would still get a really nice dress and we would do her hair and then we could have her pass out the programs *is that what they're called?* at the wedding when people came in. That way shes still involved in the wedding and she gets an awesome dress. She'll be in all the pictures too.

Just let her be a jr. bridesmaid. I'm sure it will mean the world to her to be included and it will make it really special. Jr. bridesmaids don't have to have all of the responsibilities of the rest of the bridesmaids, just let her show up and wear the dress. It will make her day.

I think you should have her as a Jr. Bridesmaid but maybe you should ask your sister. Depending on her personality (is she shy?), she might prefer another duty.

Junior bridesmaid
have her do a poem
boquet holder
All those are good ideas....
But why not ask your sister? 11 year olds often have definite ideas about what they want to do. Maybe she likes to dance, and would like to do a special dance at the reception. Maybe she sings well and would like to sing you a song. Maybe she just wants to wear an extra pretty dress. Have her help you decide.

I think Jr. bridesmaid is just fine. What's one more person in your wedding at this point? Why is your party bigger than you wanted? It's your wedding. Regardless do what you want and enjoy your day. Congrats.
