My son has a very bad infection on his face and his pediatrician referred us to a pediatric dermatologist.. so we went and saw them and they did absolutely nothing for us.. well his skin is getting worse.. very bad.. hes only 2... and I know that my insurance says that I do not have to have a referral to see another doctor so is it okay to see another doctor without his choosing? Thank you very much!!

Yes, you can (I previously read your question wrong).
Before you do that, however, I'd call back your pediatrician and tell them you need another referral. I'd also call back the original dermatologist and tell them it's getting worse.

Once pediatric dermatologist did not help ,You take
prescription this doctor gave Your son and go see an
other skin specialist.
This is what I would do.

I would go to whatever doctor you want, especially if your insurance doesn't need the referral. Your son's health is more important than worrying about upsetting your current doctor and if the doctor he referred you to didn't help, then why shouldn't you see someone else? At least as far as I'm concerned...

It's the health of your son. You have the right and the responsibility to go to whom ever you want. Get him some help. In the mean time be sure to improve his diet all you can. Fruits and veggies and no dairy is a good first step.
All chronic inflammatory diseases are improved with diet.

As long as you don't have an HMO policy, you're free to see whatever doctor you'd like. Good luck with your son.
