This would be the first time I have ever heard of a married couple seperated in bases in the US you really need to go to the chaplain on this one because you are supposed to be allowed to be stationed together unless there is an outstanding mission need that takes priority over it.

Dual military you should both get BAH single. But if she is living on post she gives that up to pay for the expenses of the barracks. If she moves out in town and no longer lives on post she is authorized BAH single. If she proves to finance that she has been signed out of the barracks and has a lease or rental agreement to show them they should start her BAH effective the day she is out of the barracks and into her own place. Until she moves off post though she is not entitled to any BAH. If one of you does decide to get out of the military the remaining person would then get BAH w/DEPS.
Jeeper is wrong. They changed the reg year ago on dual miltary couples BAH. You are both entitled to single IF you do not live on post.

She isn't a Geo-Bachelor the only time that applies is if she was stationed there and you chose not to go. Both of you will qualify for BAH w/o dependents if you are E5 and up or E4 with more than a certain number of years in and live outside of housing or barracks.

You are BOTH authorized BAH, BUT only one of you is authorized to get dependant rate. This is a common occurance in the Air Force. I've had many troops with the same problem. It's up to you guys who get the dep. rate, but I would consider if someone is higher ranking than the other, and who actually has a higher cost of living. I'm at Pope AFB, right next to Bragg. trust me, if you want her to live in a decent neighborhood, you might want to consider her having the dep. rate.

I'm not sure how to spell it. I'm not a good speller but don't tell anyone.LOL,but you need to put in a form for joint domicile if you sound it out you should get it ,sorry.but this will help get you stationed together and BAH will be cool.you need to let S1 know about this asap if you continue to get the whole BAH it will be considered fraud.who ever is the highest rank of the two of you will get the whole BAH.the lower rank will get about half or at least single rate BAH.

If you have no children, and both live on post, then neither gets BAH.
If one lives off post, then the higher ranking one recieves BAH.
If you have children, then the higher ranking one gets bah at the with dependents rate and the other gets bah at the single rate.
