you see, so many of them loved mel gibsons "Passion of the Christ" many fundamentalists bought the movie the day it came out, and instructed their families to watch it. How is it then, that I can bare to tell them that this movie was based on hethenistic evil catholic ideas and visions. Sure enough Mel Gibson used more than just the bible, but used a great deal of the Catholics mystics works in creating this film as well, should one expect a huge "burning of The Passion DVD" soon?

If most Protestants knew that "Passion of the Christ" was based on the visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, a Catholic visonary and stigmatic, the manure would hit the oscillating cooling device for sure.

Don't believe Adam or me on this subject? Check out:

Edit:

I'm worried about some people around here. . .apparently they wouldn't recognize sarcasm (i.e., "Mary worshipping Catholics") if said humor reared up and bit them in the butt.

I'm running out of ways to say this politely, so I'm just going to go ahead and let it all fall out of the deck:

Anybody who seriously believes that Catholics 'worship' Mary has either been deluded by their religious leaders or else is dumber than a box of toenails.

"The Passion of the Christ" has been out on DVD for a while now. If there was going to be a DVD burning, it would have already happened by now.

The idea that Protestants shouldn't see "The Passion of the Christ because it is a quote/unquote Catholic movie is ridiculous. Obviously, you've acknowledged the fact that many non-Catholic Christians have seen the film in question, and found it very moving.

The same thing happened last year when "The Nativity Story" was released a year ago. Because it was made by Protestants, some people were actively campaigning Catholics not to see the movie in theaters. I went, I saw - both films, and now both of them have a prominent place in my DVD collection.

You know what it all boils down to? If you don't like movies such as "The Passion of the Christ" - don't see it, but also, don't chide others for seeing it if they so choose.

One of the biggest reasons for Jesus' righteousness was that he had parents named Mary and Joseph whose righteousness was utterly revolutionary. It was their human guidance, along with his obedience to the internal force of his heavenly father that allowed him to live sinlessly.
There were many other righteous people in the Bible, and one must reason that one of the causes for momentary imperfection on their part was improper human guidance. In fact, it would be more than reasonable to state that had someone such as Abel (who Jesus himself described as a Messiah) had the guidance that Jesus had, he also could have lived sinlessly.
The Protestants are not likely to accept this, as they believe Jesus to be a half-man/half-god figure like Hercules, a fact which would make them the pagans they despise as they would be ignoring the biblical mandate that Jesus must be accepted "in the flesh." (I John)
Were they to accept this, it would mean that Jesus was perfect not because he was an impossible and unreal mythological figure but because he was a full-blooded human who resisted temptation for the entirety of his life.
The "virgin birth" would then have to be explained as a form of artificial insemination (likely Mary smearing Joseph's come into her vagina after he masturbated over her), which Mary used to hasten the wedding process which then took around a year and which Isaiah prophetically condemned as "trying the patience" of both "men" and "God" in the passage where the virgin birth is first mentioned.
Since Protestantism would quickly assign this very biblical idea to the heresy file, they already confess to worship Mary in the same way as the Catholics do as long as it means that her son gets the credit for her work. Because the "Passion of the Christ" follows this format, it will never be considered a work of heresy by Protestantism even though it is as thoroughly biblically and historically inaccurate as the Catholic Church's other doctrines which they so deride.
Also, since much of Protestant doctrine comes from church reformers such as Martin Luther, who never completely rejected the strong education he had received in Catholic thought and life while a monk, and since Luther is even now revered as a sort of modern-day Moses by many Protestants, Protestant Christianity is certain to continue to give "the Passion of the Christ" the same effectual status of canonization as they have afforded to Martin Luther's works, many of which endorsed anti-semitic views and served to incite the holocaust. .

Actually Mel is a schizmatic. Has his own Church not sanctioned by Rome, rejects every Pope I think since the Council of Trent theologically.(at least we know for sure since VII)

Rumor has it he is an Opus Dei Supernumary.

What I find funny is they are supporting and putting money into the pocket of a man (and if the Opus Dei thing is true an organization) who's stated goal is destroy them and openly states they are going to hell.

Yet they hate us everyday and ecumenical Catholics.

I love our blessed , holy, immaculate mother mary, she is mother of divine grace, mirror of justice, gate of heaven, health of the sick, seat of wisdom, queen of angels and of saints, queen assumed into heaven, mother undefiled, mirror of justice, and on and on. She is beloved to her most holy son our lord and God Jesus christ, spouce of the holy spirit, blessed among women, mother of perpetual help, queen of peace, the glory of God, sitting in heaven with her son forever !! That aught to send the protestants into a panic.

I know in my heart what the Blessed Virgin Mary and her sacrifice means to me. She was not just an incubator - she was chosen specifically by God. God does not make mistakes.

Those who worship Mary, are not worshiping God. Mary is not God, or the son Jesus Christ. God has told human beings this many times. Why don't they listen?
