Yes, cats can pass conjuctivitis to humans. It's happened to me and it's extremely contagious. Don't share towels, wash your hands, and keep your fingers away from your eyes.

Chlamydia motives conjunctivitis in human beings and cats and that i myself do have self assurance that it somewhat is transmissible between species. The cat would desire to definitely are becoming it from the youngsters. you may call your vet or your pediatrician, and the infections in the two species could be cultured. it quite is demanding to get young little ones to apply hand sanitizer, yet each and every time achieveable -- and fairly now which you have this -- it somewhat is a good suggestion.

Not sure about the life of pinkeye- better break out the bleach.

As for transmission of illness, I think there are a few viruses that can cross near-relational boundaries (e.g. primates giving colds to other primates and what not), but to the best of my knowledge, viruses are specific to basic DNA information- this is why you can't catch FHIV or Feleuk. That is not to say an animal can't transmit the virus itself (look at mosquitoes spreading malaria), but your best bet is to sanitize, treat, and wait it out.
