When asked for the simplest possible description of Buddhism, the great Zen master Suzuki Roshi said: "Not always so."

Maybe that helps you.

If not....what Roshi meant is that everything always changes. We resist change through clinging and aversion. This resistance produces suffering. Buddhism is a set of practices that enables practitioners to penetrate to the source of human suffering and, by doing so, put an end to that suffering.

If you want more, I recommend reading "It's Easier Than You Think, by the Insight meditation teacher Sylvia Boorstein. It's a clear, complete, and simple explanation of Buddhism. There's no web site that comes close.
