Deuteronomy 13:1
'If a prophet arises among you offering some sign or wonder...'

'...and if he then tells you to follow other gods and worship them...'

'Do not listen to that prophet's words. Yahweh your God is testing you to find out if you love him with all your heart and soul.'

'That prophet must be put to death. You must banish this evil from among you.'

To all who say he wasn't a prophet. He (incorrectly) prophesied the end of the world.
To those who said he didn't lead others to different Gods. Check with the Gnostics. They believe the same books as the literals, but they understand it is metaphor and some even believe he's speaking of a different God than the OT one and some believe there is a goddess.

If we are going to follow what the new testament says, then yes he was a false prophet:

Deu 18:22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

-----------------

According to Mat 24:34, Jesus said that his generation would not pass away until the end times take place:

Mat 24:34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

EDIT: Also we read in the old testment: Deu 21:23 his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for a hanged man is cursed by God. You shall not defile your land that the LORD your God is giving you for an inheritance.

Of course Muslims don't believe so because we don't believe in the authenticity of NT

I see your point, but Jesus did not try to lead people to a different God. (John 17:3) says 'this means everlasting life, thier taking in knowledge of you, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and of the one that you sent forth Jesus Christ.' We see by this scripture that Jesus also did not try to make himself out to be God. That teaching was brought about long after Jesus and his faithful desciples died in the 1st century.
We can not blame Jesus for what people have done since his death to dishoner him or his father, Jehovah God.
The good news is that today the truth is now out and Jesus is again collecting those that want to know the truth and worship Jehovah God. Those that do will enjoy the blessings of the kingdom of God in the paradise earth to come.

I am paraphrasing but ....
Jesus says to the others because they claimed he has a demon... that how can Satan cast out Satan? For a kingdom divided cannot stand.

So if Jesus is leading people to God ... to become better people and fulfill their purpose on earth, how could he be a false prophet.

Definition of a false prophet is anyone who comes in the name of God but leads those to worship other Gods that you do not yet know and what Kimo says up above that if some one prophecies and it comes to pass and does NOT happen ... they speak presumptuously and not through the Holy Spirt. I have read this myself. Being that this world was a Godless world before and he was leading everyone to worship one God alone that requires everyone to love one another as you love yourself.... not to murder, steal, lie.... etc. Does that sound like a false prophet... one who shows a godless world .... miraculous things ... prophecies fullfilled and doesn't go against what he preaches. A hypocrit he is not. A false prophet he is not.

For anyone who leads those to God by the Word is of God.
People included. I'm not saying that I am Jesus... I am not. But we are to be like Christ through love, faith, hope. The greatest is love.

For the bible says and I am paraphrasing... Love conquers all.

Jesus did not come to judge the world... he came to save it.

Even those who call their selves Christian... do not take what they say as the truth ... for the Bible tells us to question everything.... and that is when you read the scriptures yourself.
Now my own mother asked me why I then don't question the Bible. My answer through the Holy Spirit....
Jesus spoke in parables. The entire Bible could have been written in parables if it was the will of God. But the Bible says why Jesus spoke to us in parables.... please read that part for yourself. Seek and you shall find. Jesus also spoke literally. For if there is parables among what is written to be taken as written ... then how is there any set law if man can interpret it as they need to. For if there is no law, there is no sin. If you accept the law as your own .... so you shall be judged. Please read that in your Bible. So if there is no point in the Bible... God could come back anytime to judge the world. I believe the Word is to be fullfilled first.... as it is written.
With Love, D'Anna

Jesus was special because he was probably an enlightened being. One of many who have come to stay for a while with us. There is no other difference between Him and anyone else, except he got it. We haven't yet.

The roman catholics added son of God thing after they decided that Jesus was the sole embodiment of God on earth.

This was decided at the council of Nicaea in the early 300's. Mostly between 310 to 320.

After much debate the faction that wanted to change Jesus's teachings and pretend that he was special, the only son of God won out. Jesus never taught this. In fact he taught that we are all children of the same father, each precious and equal in the eyes of the father, himself included.

This idea that Jesus was different was added much later by Paul in an attempt to win converts while he was in tarsus evangelizing.

Jesus taught that fasting, and a sort of meditative seclusion was the way to connect with the spirit of God. This too was changed to be thought of as mumbling a lot of words that have little real meaning. we refer to this as prayer, but it in no way resembles the prayer Jesus taught about.

Love and blessings Don

How can you align this to Christ. First you need to realize that Jesus was not a prophet but the Messiah. Jesus did fulfill all the prophesies about the promises Messiah that were prophesied in the Old Testament. His death was very much necessary, because through his death we were set free from the wages of sin. The wages of sin we were freed from was eternal separation from God the father. Jesus is much alive and well today and he was then.

a sign of wonder is when you come home from work, open the fridge, and there's still beer left from the night before. that's a true miracle. i wouldn't say jesus was a false prophet, he didn't have a tv show or series of christian self help books.

Funny that Christ himself teache to Love God with the same words in Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27?
So I would have to disagree. Jesus taught he was to bring people back to God. Not lead them to other gods. (Deuteronomy 13:2)
Sounds like a little saviour envy to me.

The best test for scripure is scripture. The scripture you posted said that a false prophet would attempt to sway you to worship other God's. Jesus doesn't do that. So, your scripture answered your question. Can you Best Answer yourself?
