I hate to tell you this, but your breath was probably bad when you were smoking too (you just didn't realize it). Brush teeth well, use a mouth wash, and make an appointment for a teeth cleaning with your dentist.

And, hey!, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

You did a great job! Smoking is a no-use thing so why not forget it for life. By the way, your breath becomes a little bad the fact that there still nicotine sticked on your lips and perhaps on the corners of your teeth. This nicotine creates the tartar that triggers bad breath.

Actually, you're supposed to use hard candy in place of gum. Since it isn't as sugary, it keeps your breath fresh instead of having the need to chew all day. (Keeps you from looking like a cow chewing) Make an appointment with your dentist for a deep cleaning and just brush, floss, and use mouthwash regularly. It will balance out eventually.

well done on quitting smoking.
Floss regularly, especially on the 'side' you draw in the cigarette the most (i tend to be a rightie). Get a tongue scrapper - you'll be surprised how much crap comes off.
also your taste buds will be killed through somking so you may over compensate with strong foods so try not to as this all causes bad breath. keep it up.

Gargle a cup of lukewarm water mixed with salt or half a lemon juice. This is best done before going to bed. Chew parsley leaves, which are sure to keep your breath fresh. More useful remedies at http://useinfo5.blogspot.com/

Congratulations! Your body is eliminating the toxins...you may also notice yourself coughing more in the next month as your lungs begin clearing. As for the breath,,listerine works wells and brush your tongue gently.
