Either one. Sugar obviously sweetens it but salt actually tends to override some of the natural bitterness of the grapefruit, giving it more of a subtle flavor. I prefer sugar.

well my grandma uses sugar which sweetens it alot, but is better tasting. But my husband uses salt. I tried both and sugar is definitly better but I still don't like grapefruit. T believe the really bright ones like red and oranges are the sweetest ones. NOT THE YELLOW BIG ONES!!!

It's up to you. But sugar would be best as grapefruit is a little tangy.

I do what my mom did.
- When I cut it in half, I top it with sugar.
- When I eat it in sections like an orange, I eat it with salt.

It is up to your taste buds, I like it with salt my sister likes it with sugar. Pink is the sweet!
