Actually, there's nothing wrong with carrots unless you have allergies. But they are rather sweet- so that's probably where the idea is coming from.

You should stay away from foods that are fried, or that have a lot of fat in them. Also, you should try to avoid processed sugars (ie. the white stuff in the bowl on the table).

If you can do that and eat a well-balanced diet with a lot of whole grains in them, you should be all right.

Good luck!

I'm sorry I don't care what anyone says but eating anytype of fruit or veggie is not going to interfer with weight loss. I have recently become a vegitarian and have lost 20 pounds. The ONLY thing I have cut out was meat. I don't really eat pastas or white bread. I do eat potatoes. Everyone is different though you have to figure out what works best for your body. And don't listen to fad diets they will just be a temp fix. Just cut down on your portions and exercise. Keep your metablizum up by eating 3 small meals and 2 snacks inbetween like a handfull of almonds, which also fights breast cancer. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Goodluck.

Carrots have a high glycemic index. This means their natural sugars flood your bloodstream very quickly, possibly giving you an insulin spike. That's an Atikins Diet thing.

all I have ever seen in how carrots are healthy for you...
Anyway, when you are trying to lose weight avoid anything with substitute sugar content because when you use a sugar substitute your body thinks it is getting sugar and will crave it more because it is not.

Also remember not to ban things you like. When you crave certain things you set yourself up to fail, so allow small amounts here and there.

Of course there is the fats, red meats, and excessive amounts of carbohydrates to avoid as much as possible
Good luck

Depends what time of diet your are doing. Carrots have lots of natural sugar so if you are on a low-carb diet, it may ask you to stay away from sugary fruits and veggies. But by no means are carrots bad in the general sense.

That is ridiculous! You can eat anything as long as it is in moderation and you exercise. Stop listening to those diet schemes that promise quick weight loss because they cause more harm than good.

Low carb diets will give you liver/heart problems so don't do them. Plus when you get off those kinds of diets your body is extremely susceptible to weight GAIN.

carrots sabotaging weight loss is a theory many overly paranoid people have. Carrots are fine in moderation, but like that girl said they have natural sugars.

Your best bet is to stick with negative calorie foods like celery, because they actually burn calories when you eat them.
