I'm 16 an i've had a cyst in my right earlobe for about 2 1/2 weeks. The cyst is very small and doesn't hurt. I get these alot, like 4 or 5 times a year and they always take months to go away. I want to get my ears pierced but can't because the cyst is right where i want the piercing. Can i pierce my ears anyway with the cyst there? If not How can i make it go away faster?

I would not recommend piercing through a cyst, or even very close to one. A good, professional piercer should not pierce you if you do have a cyst where you want to be pierced. You are creating a 'wound' when piercing, and you do not want to disturb a cyst that is already there, as it could potentially lead to infection. Considering that you get cysts often in the spot you want to get pierced, I would recommend you rethink the decision to pierce in that spot, it doesn't seem like your body has good infection control, especially in that spot, and it may affect how your piercing will heal. Maybe think about piercing your ear in another spot, perhaps your cartiladge. . .

If you continue to get cysts in one particular spot, I would advise you to see a doctor, you may have an internal infection, and need antibiotics. You should not 'fool around' with cysts, go get it looked at.

Good luck!

I had one removed from behind my earlobe a couple years ago. They just numbed it and cut it out. It was pain free. Mine was a lot bigger than yours, and I wanted to wear my hair in a ponytail for the summer. Have it pierced afterwards, since cysts often grow larger.
