countries air forces, including the USA, in the world? i heard it was the 4th largest air force in the world, is this true?

I am not sure about the Marines, but at one point the 101st ABN (Air Assault) had the third largest air force with the number of helicopters they had, so I would say it is possible.

Maybe in the late 80's or very early 90's but not anymore. The Air Wing of the USMC was gutted by Clinton in the 90's. And I use the term "gutted" as the most accurate word to describe what happened.

Well, here how many pilots each service has.
Air Force - 14,000 pilots
Navy - 6,600 pilots
Army - 5,000 pilots
Marine - 3,400 pilots
