At 12yo there is no reason that anyone, should have to be getting her "down," or putting her to bed. It's ridiculous and sounds like it may be as much if not more his issue than hers. At 12 she needs some privacy and independence.
It may be completely innocent but in today's society as sad as it is, he needs to really think about how it looks to others and it does look odd.
Get some books about raising children and show him where it says children as young as 2, 3, 4 sleep by themself all nights and have very little ritual in going to bed.

You want to know what I think... I think that there is a whole heck of alot more going on in that room besides him putting his daughter to sleep. We all know what I think is going on in there. At twelve she doesn't need daddy "snuggling" her to sleep. What she needs is a hug good night an I love you said and off to bed... by herself! That's what I think! I also think that you aught not to let it go on... because you know deep down it is wrong, otherwise you would not question it. That girl needs someone to protect her... please be the one to do this. She will most likely not be the first to get help as it is her father and who knows what she's been told. Help this girl and never mind the consequences on your relationship with this man.
I know I could very well be wrong... but you have to admit this is not natural and should not be going on. She is 12! Some one has got to put a stop to this guy "snuggling" his daughter like this. Even if what I htink is not what is going on... it still needs to be stopped. It is very unhealthy and inapropriate. My opinion.... leave the computer screen and do what you know needs to be done.... call the cops..... now!

It sounds strange to a lot of people that have a 12 year old daughter because at 12 most girls do not want to talk about anything with either parent. Personally I think it seems a little weird to "cuddle" for that long. If you have your doubts (I hate to say this but) spy on them! Instincts are usually right.

No. Its not normal or appropriate. Not just for an obvious reason but because of the long term effect on the girl. Every man she has an interest in is not going to be "cuddle daddy".

Think about it! Every father in their right mind would put a stop to this himself. it's ridicules. I think there is more than cuddling going on. Talk to your daughter as soon as possible!

This is definitely peculiar. She is a pre-pubescent teenager...she needs her space...not a teddy and daddy snuggling her to sleep. I seriously don't like the sounds of this...sorry!

yeah, it's definitely wierd, but since it's his daughter he will only resent it when you bring it to his attention.
