(1) He's under contract not to discuss any "upper level" stuff publicly (just like every other "upper level" Scientologist).
(2) They're taught that anyone "unprepared" for such a revelation may actually DIE from exposure to the material. This is not a joke.
And actually, Scientologists are put under enormous pressure to "talk up" their cult to anyone who will listen. Recruitment, especially of celebrities, is central to Scientology. Hubbard considered celebs "very special people" who are capable of extolling the "virtues" of Scientology to the largest audiences possible. That's why there are celebrity centers. That's why they're treated so well and given Scientology services free of charge.

Actually, that is part of the rules. Since the Xenu story is an OT III story, Tom Cruise doesn't talk about it publicly because the "Church" of Scientology teaches that if people hear the stories before they're "prepared" they'll get sick. (By "prepared" I mean "have paid enough money.")

Check out Xenu.com and get the full story.
http://www.xenu.com
The story of Xenu and aliens is "secret knowledge known only to those at the top". So 99% of scientologists dont know or care about all that. They would only hear of it in places like this.
And the other 1% deny that its part of their believes. Its supposed to have been an analogy which was misused by anti-sites. So of course they dont talk of it either.
It comes off like asking the christians why they dont talk about Jesus being married and having kids. Thats also supposed to be secret info known only at the top (vatican levels). But if we keep telling christians that they believe it then we can keep making fun of them for it.

Because the core of $cientology's dogma - the story of Xenu and volcanoes and such - is even less believable than Christianity's dogma.

Is this going to be another "hey you! this is what you truly believe so WHY dont you talk about it" question? I see variations like this all the time. Telling the christians what they believe, telling the mormons what they believe, telling the muslims what they believe. Surely everyone that asks that understands why it won't work that way.
