I am typing up a document on Microsoft word and while typing, it keeps breaking up my words instead of moving the whole word to the next line. Where do I go to change the formatting so it will stop doing that?

I tried turning off hypenation and auto format. No luck! I'm usually pretty good with MS Word...just can't figure this one out. Check out the picture of the page:

I FIGURED IT OUT!
It was the font that was doing it. CITY BLUE PRINT was the font - and that is what caused it! Thanks for your answers!

Hi, from what you are describing it looks like your format option is screwed up. Go to format and chceck paragraph option and also check auto format (uncheck it if it is checked). Let me know if that doesnt help or if you want send me a snap shot of your word file.

Hope it helps!

The hyphenation setting is under Tools and Language and Hyphenation (Automatic Hyphenation, on or off).

Further, if you want to MAKE SURE a word doesn't get split from another word (you want to make danged sure a space remains there, and the single space doesn't get split across a line break, and the two words stay co-joined like Siamese twins forever and ever...) You can type the first word, then instead of typing a space, click Insert, Symbol... and down under the lower-case o you'll see a blank square and if you click it you'll see it explained as "NO-BREAK SPACE", so click Insert and Close then type the second word. So your two words are co-joined and wedded and married till "real space" do they part.

Turn off automatic hyphenation this way:

1. Click the Tools->Language->Hyphenation menu item.
2. Deselect Automatically Hyphenate Document.
3. Click OK.

Hope that helps.

You need to check the settings for hyphenation and turn it off.
