I am a Christian ( it doesn't matter what denomination) and I have always questioned the prophecies and authority of Joseph Smith ( founder of the moormans). I read that after Smith died his band of moormans attacked a village and killed all but the children. That doesnt sound like a real prophet to me. What are your thoughts?

And I know that Christians lead crusades against the Muslims but it was not the apostles who did it

Ok! I now know that it is morman not moorman. And dont get too focused on the story about the village. I am asking more about the additions to the bible.

He was convicted of witchcraft, actually so were his gold digging parents as well. Literally, they moved around searching for treasure and digging for gold. Historically he is recorded as taking a potion made of mushrooms prepared by the local indians and then having these grand visions. There are a tonne of loopholes and errors in his words and teachings. These all seem to be forgiven by the people for some reason. They soon forget they are the spawn of interstellar space "Adam & Eve" coincidentally the first Americans, because we all know the garden of Eden was in the US midwest. And that Jesus took a detour from ascention to tour the good ol US of A. K the question should be, why do people believe all this crazy talk anyway? Oh yes, he was a false profet and hopefully is burning in the 7th level of Hell for all his corrupt ways.
I as well have researched this, and yes his whole family was guilty of witchcraft. The name "Mormon" comes from the demon "Mormo" which Smith knew about in his occult readings. The followers of "Mormo" were called the "Mormons" which were devil worshippers. I am not saying all Mormons are devil worshippers, I am saying that Smith knew this in his occult history and that is a fact. Therefore he is a false prophet, that was the question. You can give me all the thumbs down you wish, any fool can throw this into a search engine and find it to be 100% TRUE.

If you are referring to the Mountain Meadows Massacre, than you have had a false account. The men responsible for that were, in fact, mormon at the time, but the church WAS NOT behind it in any form. The people who were resposible were excommunicated from the church shortly after. You can not blame Joseph Smith for some bad people that decided to join the church. If you want to hear a real account of Joseph Smith ask a member of the LDS church, because any account outside of the source is most likely an inacurate one. A source that I can highly recommend to learn more about the religion as a whole is lds.org

No, I don't I believe that Joseph Smith was a False prophet, He WAS called of God to restore His (God's) church here on the earth.
Joseph Smith was Never convicted of witchcraft or anything else- he was arrested many times but never convicted. His parents were NEVER convicted of anything and never even arrested. Some people really need to verify their facts with reliable sources and quit relying on the information fed to you by anti-Mormon websites and groups.
I am not aware of any group of Mormons attacking a village. I don't think it happened. He certainly never taught that kind of behavior, no LDS prophets ever have. You want to talk atrocities- you should do some research on how the people of Missouri treated the Mormons. Look into the Hauns Mill incident- where the Missouri Militia killed ALL the men and boys (except one boy who faked being dead).
If you really want correct information- then go to www.Mormon.org

No I don't. And I'd like to know know where you got that story from because I have never heard it. I have done massive amounts of research on the LDS church both from Mormon endorsed sites and from anti-Mormon sites and I have no idea what story you are talking about.
It's Mormon, not moorman. And the official name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

My thoughts are that you ought to read actual books about Joseph Smith written by actual scholars and people who can spell, without an ax to grind. Try Truman Madsen, Kay Briggs, etc. Have a happy day, and I send you a gummy bear.

I have never heard that, and I've grown up in the LDS church. I hesitate to say that it is completely false, because I certainly do not know everything. But I find it extremely unlikely.
And even if it were true, you say it was after his death, so how could he have lead them?
And it's Mormon, not moorman.

I know he was a prophet. And Listening to hearsay is not the way to find out. Do some research into what he actually did.
-------------------------------------
What additions to the bible? There isn't any. But then you don't even know what is in the bible or would wouldn't be having the conversation.

I think he was a false prophet. I think the "village" you where talking about was a wagon trail. It was called the "Mountain Meadows Massacre". Mormon settlers in Utah attacked a wagon train from Arkansas (I believe) disguised as a tribe of Indians (which, I can't recall right now). They killed all but the children, who were adopted out to Mormon families and tried to blame it on the Indians. This happened under Brigham Young's leadership.

How do the actions of a group of followers after his death impact the question of whether or not he was a prophet. Atrocities committed in Christs name (without authority I might add) have no impact on His divinity.

Personally, I believe that we have been besieged by false prophets for hundreds of years.
I believe that Joseph Smith was a false prophet. I believe that muhammed was a false prophet. I believe that Jim Jones, David Koresh, ...
By their fruit they shall be known.
