Jesus said that love would set his followers apart from the rest of the world. It would be a sign that they were true christians.

It is important for everyone to show love. Imagine how much better a place this world would be if all of us showed love instead of hatred.
Christians know NOTHING about love. Their god only loves them if they hate the right people and go to war and kill people because those people believe differently.

Shouldn't it be important for everyone? Hatred is such a terrible poison that harms not only the hater, but everyone around him. However, showing love is so important to Christians because loving others is the second greatest commandment of all.

Why is it so important for people to show love before they marry? or to children? or in homes to the elderly? or, to handicapped persons? or in schools? to parents? grandparents? (It's not just a "christian thing..) "Peace!"

Because of the incredible love God showed through Jesus Christ--that He died to absolve mankind of sin. Showing love to one another comes as close to the Christ ideal of selflessness.
