HGH is not a steriod. the side effects from it's abuse differ greatly from both anabolic or androgenic steroids. the differences between growth hormone and steroids are far to numerous for me to post. HGH does not directly effect athletic performance, it's use in pro sports is mainly for it's healing and anti-catabolic properties. HGH does not increase strength, at very high doses it is believed to increase hyperplasia but the jury is still out on that topic of debate.
there are a LOT more important issues that our government should be concerned with besides performance enhancing supplements and MLB

RE:
What exactly does HGH do anyway? Is is steroids? does it have negative effects like the old form of steroids?
I'm trying to see why Baseball players are getting flamed so bad for this, what's the big deal?

HGH is Human Growth Hormone.. and is NOT considered a steroid, although it works similar. It had been conisered the "Fountain of Youth"
It is absolutely legal for people over 30 to take with a prescription.
HGH helps bodybuilders to grow muscle and burn fat, studies state that it helps give energy, help eyesight, regrow hair.
Negative Side effects are gigantism and also increasing the rish for cancers.
HGH is also used for increasing height for children (who have need for it)
Its only illegal in Sports because LIKE steroids it aids in enhancing an athletes strength and endurance.

HGH is considered a steroid, but it's a naturally occuring hormone in the body. But like anything, taking too much of it can cause serious side effects.
Sure it will make you bigger, stronger and all that bit but you'll also burn out a lot faster on it. It's been said that if you take this regularly you're cutting out 10 -15 years of your life.
This begs the question then if it's really worth it.

HGH is human growth hormone. It is used to treat people who have certain diseases, generally, people who have growth disorders. People with Giantism have too much HGH and it can kill them if it isn't stopped.
HGH can make you taller, stronger, etc... but it is also very dangerous. Plus, in baseball, it is an unfair advantage over other players.

Human Growth Hormone. It is a steroid just like all others. There is a reason why it is not approved for adults by the FDA. Athletes using any illegal substance should be "flamed," just like they were using speed during a game.
