I was just wondering what other things there are to do at my wedding. We will have music if people want to dance, but are there other games or anything else that are common to have at weddings? When she would do them?

Whoops, that was supposed to say "when should we do them?"

Generally speaking, games are not necessary for the wedding reception. You and your groom will be busy greeting guests, dancing, cutting the cake, tossing the bouquet and eating. Your guests will also be doing most of those things--or watching the two of you.

If you feel a game is necessary, try the link below.

I've been to a couple of dozen weddings, and have never played any games. Usually, dinner and dancing is plenty of entertainment. Other traditional parts of a wedding reception include the grand entrance (introduction of the bridal party and bride and groom), bride and groom's first dance, the bride's dance with her father, the groom's dance with his mother, and the bridal party dance, tossing the bouquet, removing and tossing the garter, cutting the cake, and toasts made just before dinner (usually by the best man and father of the bride, sometimes also extending to the maid of honor, and the bride and/or groom if they are hosting the reception). The anniversary dance mentioned by others is becoming popular, as are some other traditional group dances (often with children in mind, but not necessarily) including The Chicken Dance, The Hokey-Pokey, The Electric Slide and/or a Conga Line. All of these are optional, however. You may choose to do some, all, or none.

Don't worry too much about entertaining your guests. People have a good time eating, drinking, visiting with friends and family and dancing. You don't need a lot of structure, or to keep them busy.

Generally, there aren't games at wedding receptions. You have music and food. You and your groom will be busy greeting people and thanking them for coming, cutting the cake, toasts, first dance, eating, etc. The time goes pretty quickly. There really isn't time for anything else.

Ask your DJ they have lots of ideas.

You will want to throw your flowers and garter that is always fun! The Snowball dance is always fun to get people dancing..you can also do a marriage dance where everyone slow dances to a song that is married and you weed it down to the couple that has been married the longest..that was a big hit at my wedding!

Games aren't a typical part of a wedding reception.

To keep guests entertained (and provide favors, plus a photographic record) I'm renting a photobooth.
There are many companies, but I think these guys are the best:

We had activities for the children: coloring books, puzzles, activity sheets, etc.

We did play a kissing trivia game instead of doing the traditional clinking of the glasses. We had trivia questions about my husband and I and if they got it correct we would kiss, if not, then one couple at the table would have to kiss. It sounds odd, but it worked with our crowd. They cheated from other tables so we would have to kiss, it was hilarious.

Your guests will be entertained enough with the standard wedding activities- no need to provide anything extra!

Cutting the cake, bouquet toss, and the garter toss.
Toasts and eating are a big part too.
