I'm a full-time college student, have very little (human) family, and no children. Giving away any of my cats is not a consideration. Especially here in Ohio many people seem anti-cat and anti-pet in general. Buying my own place is a future option when I finish college but not for now.

The reason I'm moving has nothing to do with the cats! I'm almost done with college and will be going to graduate school. I don't HAVE family to take any of the cats, even for short term.

I totally know how you feel about your babies, it's like someone saying to a parent, Just give away one of your children, I am not sure but you could maybe go on the net and find Cat Friendly places, I mean like a building that most of the residents share your love for amimals, you would be surpised how many others there are in the world like yourself, and no matter what others say, you know in your heart that you love your kitties and they love you too Uncondictional. Peace & Love. Lil Angel.....

It's more than likely going to take a significant amount of time to find a place to rent that will allow that many cats. It can be done though. I had to move for a short time with 2 BIG dogs, 2 cats and a parrot. It took awhile to find a place but it can be done. Contact your local shelter or some rescue groups in your area, they often have leads on pet friendly apartments or houses.
You can also look into buying a home if that's at all possible. Sometime a repo can sell for pretty cheap. Or a home in an area that's a little off the beaten path.

look for a pet friendly apartment or home to lease. Doesn't have to be where you are now, you may have to move to a whole other city. 6 cats is a lot, most places will have a limit of 3 or 4).

If that isn't an option, then buy your own place.

If that isn't an option then find loving homes for the critters.

If that isn't an option, then live out of your car or in a cardboard box with your cats.

This isn't rocket science.

if you are having issues with people being anti-animals they you have problems. You may have no other choice, but to get rid of your cats even though that's not what you wanted to hear. Can't you divide them up between family members and maybe friends until you get your place? Why are you leaving the place you are at? Can't you just stay there? Not sounding rude, but didn't you ever think about this before you obtained 6 cats esp. since you are fully aware of people in Ohio being anti-animals?

mr. cat person. It really all depends on how much money you have saved up to buy a house. I'd recomend a condo if you have enough money. But i guess you have to find someone who accepts pets if your a student. Try looking in the newspaper. Sometimes they include details like if they accept pets.

try and find all the pet friendly places to live in your area. and explain you situation to them. (plus if you can have a dog in one of these places then a few cats wont be much of a change they don't bark for one). good luck!!!

then you better make sure that you tell your next landlord and find a place that accepts pets, especially cats. you will probably have to pay a hefty deposit as well.
