Hi everyone,

I'm obviously not a photographer, but my sister is. She shoots digital.

She has been doing it for about 6 months and is really serious. I want to get her some stuff that will help her for x-mas. Really good qualtiy stuff. Can someone give me a list of maybe the top 10 things every photographer should own (other then a camera of course!) and specifics, like specific lighting, specific lighting items etc...Maybe things that work together and make some sort of great set. She shoots both studio and outdoor. She's better at outdoor though, but again she's trying to learn how to do studio. She just had a photoshoot, and she's still learning a lot about lighting. Sorry to ramble :) I believe in getting this for christmas that a person can actually use, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

So if I get her a giftcard, should I get her one from bestbuy, or is there a specific photography store (maybe somewhere online)

Media Card. The biggest her camera can hold.

Well, there's a lot of stuff you could get her. Your best bet would be since she's shooting digital, to get her a printer that's capable of printing out high quality images on photo paper. That way she can print out anything she wants as soon as she takes it.

If you know what kind of camera she has, you could get her a lens(assuming she doesn't have them all already). Lenses come in many different sizes, try getting her something like a 300 zoom lens, that's great for long distance shots. Or maybe get her a tripod so she can take more stable pictures..Or if all else fails, get her a gift card to an electronics store like best buy so she can get what she wants =p

One thing I'd love to have but haven't gotten yet is a light box. This is a box made of a translucent material that is used to shoot product and other items. Handy item and available at nice price points too.

Well, if you have to get her something photography related, get her a gift card or soemthing, so she can get something that she wants. No sense in getting her something that she has, or has no need for.
