Im allergic to Garlic. Garlic contains iodine in it and this is what Im allergic to. I get headaches, vagueness and unclear thinking when I have garlic. Also included in this iodine allergy is fish and all seafoods, added iodine to multivitamins, and salt that has iodine added. I am also allergic to internal iodine (I become anaphalatic) as in some special xrays and the stuff you wash your hands in when Im at work. (Im a theatre nurse) Any food substance can become a serious allergy. Maybe your mother needs to check out if its an iodine allergy good luck and make sure she had a plan of attack if she gets caught with garlic... eg epi pen and written instructions also that all of you know how to administer this if she needs it.

Owie!

I don't know anyone who's allergic to garlic, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. I do seem to remember hearing about how some people can fall ill after eating garlic.

I'm not allergic, but it does make me extremely thirsty, so I suppose I shouldn't eat it at all.
