I have a serious question I have myasthenia Gravis. However, I’m in excellent shape. No one would no If I didn’t tell them. I run 3 to 5 miles a few times a week. I lift weights and exercise a few hours a day. I simply take meds twice a day in the morning and before I got to bed. I have had it since I was six(23 years old now) and Its relatively stable throughout that time. I am currently in the last stages of becoming a deputy sheriff but that’s not what I really want to do. I want to join the Navy as an officer (Degree Political science). I know it would probably DQ me but is it worth a shot. I heard some things are heard on a case by case basis. Is that true? Myasthenia gravis is different for EVERYONE(snowflake disease) so, not all of us same condition. A good amount of people in my family are in the navy and I’m in waaaay better shape than they are. I just need to take meds twice a day. Can someone with please help me? I do have other options but it would just be nice to know.

Myesthenia gravis is disqualifying for entry into the armed forces. Not opinion. Fact.

Talk to a recruiter. Often times if you have a condition, you can get a waiver for it before you enter. As long as they know about it before they let you in, there shouldn't be a problem.
