we use advantix our vet recommended we do it twice to make sure all eggs were killed once a month than once the following month two months in a row. in the summer we use it once a month every month especially in tick season. i would ask your vet for advice depending on how bad the fleas are they should be able to advise you over the phone.

One of three products. The first two are by prescription only and would have to have a current relaionship (within one year) with a Vet. The last one is sold at Vet's office but is sold over the counter:

Advantix (kills fleas, ticks and mosquitos) about $11-$12 per tube that lasts one month.

Advantage (kills fleas only) same cost as Advantix and also lasts one month.

Frontline (kills fleas and ticks) lasts one month. Cost is a bit more- $13-$15 per tube.

All 3 are topical treatments and have be shown to be very safe.

You could use a capstar [a pill from the Vet] to kill all of the adult fleas that are on them as of right now and then apply a topical such as Frontline Plus that will kills fleas and ticks! Then if you pups have a currect heartworm test I would suggest a heartworm prevention called Sentinel which works very well and it will sterilize any fleas so that they could not reproduce and you would never have an infestation in your home.

I would stear away from those products like Biospot and Sargents b/c they can sometimes be harmful!!

Use Frontline or Advantage. Here's a site with prices on all the name brands and you can order online for much cheaper than the vet sells.

I would recommend Frontline. It is not cheap, but very effective. Read the reviews on the link below.

Frontline, Advantage, Revolution or Advocate - i.e, anything from a vet and NOTHING from a store.

Chalice

Go to vet and get Advantix. They will drop off dead.
