they usually ask me to prove it. and i wonder how does one go about proving such a thing? even if i didn't do anything which you could perceive as being a "sin", and this is under the assumption that you could follow me around 24/7/365 for the rest of my life, you'd probably still doubt that i never had a bad thought. so why do you suppose so many believe that jesus never even had one bad thought? isn't that kind of hard to prove? how does one go about proving he/she is "sinless"?

I'm without sin also, you'll just have to take my word for it or reject my word for it.
Atheists do not sin, they might do bad stuff or good stuff but an atheist does not sin, sin is a religious concept and applies only to adherents of religious faiths and traditions.

If i followed you around, we would not make it through the first day or hour before you sinned. The essence of God is sinlessness, holiness, purity. But man is sinful. To say that Jesus could sin is to place Him at the level of you and me. That is very wrong.

You have made the common mistake that sin is an action.
It isn't.
Sin is a force.
The book of Romans refers to sin as a 'master' over us.
It also refers to sin as a 'king'.
These are entities that rule, exercise authority and exert influence.
Such is sin.
When we give into that force, we commit what is called a wrongdoing.
However, sin is the force, not the act.
We are all born with that force within us.
Except Jesus, of course.

Okay... if Jesus is the son of god, that would still make him half human... and therefore he would have human failings... there is a very good chance that Jesus sinned at some point, but god forgave him because he was gonna die for everyone else's sins anyhow... but that's only if Jesus was actually the son of a god... that would make him kinda like Hercules...right?

Jesus followed the Golden Rule, he who has the gold makes the rules. If he did have a bad thought, he could just say that was no longer a sin.

First you have to ask them to provide you with an empirical definition of "sin". It usually involves some lame explanation with "god" as the central argument.
So simply ask them to provide you with a single shred of credible evidence supporting the existence of god.
Since they are incapable of doing that (god is imaginary after all) simply say "see? I'm sinless" and walk away...

How does one go about proving He is sinless?

One proclaims it from Heaven. Other than that method, you're right it's rather impossible to prove. :-)

EDIT: One descends out of Heaven and proclaims it. Read the Book of Mormon for an example.

I say you can only be sinless if you don't believe in sin.

And sin really rooted from the bible and it's teachings, so if you do not believe in the bible, you do not believe in sin.

I am an Atheist - therefore do not sin

I never claimed to be sinless - in fact, I am quite sinny.
;)

But to answer your question - we are sinless because "sin" is a made up concept.

Because you're not sinless...if you eat pork...if you get angry or upset about anything materialistic...etc...etc...etc... the list goes on...

Jesus was the exception...and I'll give you 3 guesses why...the first 2 are wrong...
