Heres a link to one of the best, $169.

**I stand corrected. Here is "the fine print"...
"Up-converting over component output is only available for unencrypted DVD discs such as home video and consumer-created contents. Most commercially pressed DVD discs are CSS-encrypted and will be limited to 480i/480p output over component."
Good catch.
(Oppo is still a great player)

Read the fine print. I was under the impression that you only got up-converted video through a HDMI connection. (Some players may be hackable).

The Oppo website shows that for the Component output:

480i/480p NTSC, 576i/576p PAL
720p/1080i/1080p for non-encrypted contents

So these units will NOT up-convert commercial DVD's through the component wires.

(sorry)

Firmware will resolve the problem of the content for Oppo in the near future.

It ships with HDMI cable so what's the issue??

Oppo is the best bang for the buck! I love mine.
