I have been lead many times of the Holy Ghost. Instead of lifting myself up let me share some very real.
A few years ago, back in 99. I worked in one of the local schools in a nearby town. It was a school of about 500 students. One day while the students were out in the hall, I believe they were going to lunch. The Holy Ghost was moving on me to speak with a young teenage girl who was walking by. I pushed it off as my imagination.
Our imagination does not know when something is wrong or when someone is in deep trouble. I learned a very hard lesson. As I reasoned why a grown man should not be talking to a young teen girl at school. This day and age frowns on it greatly. Men to friendly with young girls or it's not right to tell about Jesus to kids. I pushed back the leading of the spirit. What could I do I wondered? All I felt was to talk to her about Jesus. I did not do it.
A few days later I was in town and someone came up to me and asked if I heard the news? He told me she had killed herself the night before.
I felt as guilty as if I would have pulled the triger myself. She needed a friend and I did not follow the spirit. Now she was dead. When someone is a total stranger only the Holy Ghost can lead us to do something for them if we don't know there is anything wrong with them. Unbelievers can say what they want to. The spirit of God is real.
I have given this much consideration about posting this. It is shameful to me that I had fell so short. Maybe some good can come from this yet. Do not push back the Holy Ghost. When he leads us we must follow him. He knows things we don't.

Sure! And the more you walk with God, the more you listen to him and are obedient to him, the more these things will happen. It is all about walking by faith. Good for you for stepping out and following God! I'm sure that lady was really blessed. She might have been praying - wondering how she was going to feed her kids. There will be times that God will prompt you to do things that might not necessarily yield immediate results. But as long as it is in line with the Bible and you know it is the Lord, then do it.
I recently quit my job - I felt led to do it - and moved across the country to go to school. A huge step - but this happened after a lot of smaller steps - like the one you took. I also prayed about it a lot. As you continue to take these steps you learn to recognize the voice of God. Even if you make a mistake, you learn. I didn't think very highly of the school before I went, but knew that it was the leading of God. I'm very glad that I did. I have another job, am doing all sorts of really neat things - and am on the right path do being equipped to do work that will be helpful to others. I would not have been able to do any of these things if I had not been obedient.
So - good for you! I think it is wonderful that you've stepped out to follow the Holy Spirit. I'm excited about what will be next for you!

Although some will probably answer that it was just a coincidence, I do believe that many times, we receive direction from God, usually in response to a request. (I've asked that He phone or send emails or even neon signs, but, understandably, He doesn't work in those media. Of course, since we are not Messengers, we are not going to hear directly from Him...)
(When I was looking for quotes for you on this topic, I kept finding quotes on the soul's condition after death and about life after death - which I believe is in response to my sometime doubt that my beautiful 18-year-old son's death was not in vain.)
A quote regarding seeming miracles, which also applies to this situation, is "Many.. think that answers to prayer would invlolve arbitrary interference with the laws of nature. An analogy may help.. If a magnet be held over some iron filings the latter will fly upwards and cling to it, but this involves no interference with the law of gravitation.. What has happened is that a superior force has been brought into play-- another force whose action is just as regular and calculable as that of gravity.. prayer brings into action higher forces, as yet comparatively little known; but there seems no reason to believe that these forces are more arbitrary in their action than the physical forces. The difference is that they have not yet been fully studied and experimentally investigated, and their action appears mysterious and incalculable because of our ignorance." J.E. Esslemont, "Baha'u'llah and the New Era", pp. 96-97

confident, i be attentive to what you're attempting to get at. The Holy Spirit cant be God with the aid of fact no one interior the bible prayed to it purely - suitable ? if it is so then tell me this -- why is God Almighty referred to as a Spirit then ? (John 4:24) and how approximately this verse in ( 2 Cor 3:17) Now the Lord IS THAT SPIRIT: and the place the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (caps mine) those verses are comparable interior the NWT - in actuality your bible even says Jehovah is that Spirit. So praying to God is the comparable as praying to the Holy Spirit. In (Acts 5: 3-5) Peter of course says that mendacity to the Holy Ghost replaced into the comparable as mendacity to God. The tri- cohesion of the father, Son, and Holy Ghost won't be able to be separated ( Mat 28:19 and 1John 5:7) - they might have distinctive applications interior the bible yet they are nonetheless one. (Eph 4:3) Endeavouring to maintain the cohesion of the Spirit interior the bond of peace. (Eph 2:18) For by him we the two have get admission to via one Spirit unto the father. are you able to confirm the Holy Spirits function right here ? enable me ask you if the Holy Spirit is an insignificant impression or energetic tension from God then why does it.. Convict the international of sin (John sixteen:8), Baptize all believers into the physique of Christ (1Cor 12:13 ) or seal believers (Eph a million:13) while they believed the gospel of their salvation (1Cor 15:a million-4) ? Why does not God do this himself if the watchtowers claims are splendid the Son and Holy Ghost at the instant are not notably much as good with the aid of fact the father ? (Rom 8:26 ) Likewise the Spirit additionally helpeth our infirmities: for all of us be attentive to no longer what we could continuously PRAY for as we ought: however the SPIRIT itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which won't be able to be uttered. How can an energetic tension make intercessions ( pray ) to the father for us - please tell me ?

Yes, often. I must admit I don't always do as i'm instructed. Last Christmas while at work my car window was broken out by a young man whom I had never met before. His mom offered to pay for the window and promised it would be paid for by the first of the year, which was no problem with me. True enough I did not like to ride around town with plastic and tape on my window but I believed her and also felt bad for her because she is married true enough to his father but dad is the only one working, they have 3 other children and weren't well off so I figured I wouldn't hound them I would just wait a few months for them to get the money together. Well 10months later we hadn't heard from her. One day in line to get gas there was man behind me and the Holy Spirit said "Ask him to fix your window", he didn't have on a company uniform he was in a plain shirt and jean shorts nor was in a company vehicle he was in an older model car. I said "What?" and totally dismissed the Holy Spirit well I went out to my car and started filling up. He came over to me and asked me could he fix my car window- I was in total shock!!!! Not only did he fix my window but he did it and glue removal for $150 cheaper than what was quoted to me other places. Just showed me there are times when God or the Holy Spirit will prompt you to do things and you have no idea why and it's better not to question but just to do what your being led to do. God Bless.

TOTALLY - and I even get chill bumps from reading yours. Saw a homeless lady for quite sometime near a grocery store I go to often. Each time I saw her I could tell she wasn't just another "drunk/dope head" on the streets. She actually looked like she was trying hard to keep herself up: even on the streets. Long story short - this women NEVER asked for a dime from anyone. I pulled the car over - gave her money and a hot meal.
Also: gave away basketballs to kids in parking lot of a Walmart. Just watched the families and choose the ones that God led me to.
God bless you and yours!
Final note: I believe that 'all' things do happen for a reason.

He does and I do.
Last Christmas season, my husband and I had an extra car we were going to sell, the Lord spoke to both of our hearts and we gave the car to our neighbors who were in need of a car.
Also, we knew that they were in need of grocery's, so we gave them money for groceries.
Also, when they were evicted, we knew that they had no where to go being from another country, they had no family here......so, we became their family and had the 6 of them move into our three bedroom apartment until they could get on their feet.
I feel that this family was placed there, as our neighbors, for a reason. They lead us to our new church home where the Lord is now using my family.
When the Lord asks you to do something, you just do it, no matter how crazy it sounds. He knows best!

That is an amazing story, simply proving how great our God is. I don't have a particular story, but I have felt the Holy Spirit directing me to places I didn't want to go to or put in situations I wasn't 100% comfortable in. At the end, you grow so much and realize you are following the path the Lord has created for you.

It was in the early hours of the morning and I wondered if I should just drink up and go to bed or post a letter now, like now. The urge to post the letter won, like it was from God, and when I got near the letter box there was a woman with a man laid out on the pavement. He was either stone drunk or drugged but the woman needed me to help her put him in the car. I wanted to tell her I really felt the Lord sent me to her, but said nothing as we put him inside. When she got to the driver door she looked up to the sky with a look in her face as if giving heartfelt thanks. We said nothing but she drove off. I have always wondered if I should have said something, or did right by keeping silent about the late night call from God :)

Yes, I have ,several times and I am always glad I chose to listen.
I'm glad that you listened to the Holy Spirit's direction, and I am sure that the woman who received the turkey is also. God bless you and keep listening to the voice of God.
Don't listen to the people like the one above who compare you with suicide bombers - how can they even compare giving food to the needy to killing a large group of people? DUH Some people will never understand the power of a living God. And that is very SAD.
