No, we shared a common ancestor with apes, not that we came from apes.

Oh, dear.
Well, here goes again.
Elissa, this is a very common misconception about how evolution works.
No one says we evolved from monkeys, but that we had a common ancestor. Monkeys are like or very distant cousins. Your cousin doesn't cease to exist just because you are here, does he?
Look at your family tree. Evolution works in exactly the same way. If you go far enough back, you are related to people you would never guess. (Barak Obama nad Dick Cheney are very distant cousins, as are George W. Bush and John Kerry.) If you go back millennia, the we share a common ancestor with apes. You're right: you are not a monkey any more than George W. Bush is Barak Obama. Or any more that I am you.
If you have any specific questions, I would be happy to address them to the best of my ability.

You Wrote: "If we evolved from monkeys, why do monkeys still exist?"
My Response: 1. We are monkeys - 'monkeys' is a generic term and not a species specific term. 2. We share a common ancestor with modern chimps. 3. When you were born did your cousins suddenly die?
You Wrote: "(I'm not trying to be smart here lol I'm really not please don't take it the wrong way I'm just curious b/c I didn't pay attention in science class) And why don't we have hair all over us? "
My Response: We do have hair all over us - it's just really 'fine' hair.
You Wrote: "Why dont we have fossils of human/monkey people? "
My Response: I'm not sure what you are actually looking for here, but we do have transitional forms. A few of them are: Australipithicine, homo erectus, homo ergaster, etc.
You Wrote: "(or do we idk if we do let me know the link to the site you find about it hehe again not trying to be smart lol)
I just wanted to say....I am not a monkey. I don't know about you, you might have evolved from a monkey, but I my friend am not. (I was trying to be smart there haha. =))"
My Response: I'm not sure why you would be offended to be related to a monkey. Why does ancestory from a monkey offend you, but ancestroy from dirt does not?

Well, because we didn't evolve from monkeys (I don't know were people keep getting this idea from). We evolved from a type of ape. And that type of ape no longer exists, since they evolved into us. And there is evidence of 'human/ape people'.
Here's a like (which gives likes to some of the 'ape/human' species. I suggest you read thru' it);
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_evolution
So, you're right. You're not a monkey. You're an ape, just like the rest of the human species.

I'm going to assume you are serious.
"Why are there still monkeys?"
First,we(you included)did not evolve from monkeys.We,and monkeys,and apes,all evolved from a common ancestor.But to keep things simple,we'll say "monkeys"
Africa used to be all jungle and rainforest, and monkeys were very suited to that environment.See a tiger, hop up the tree(with the help of your prehensile tail)and survive to reproduce other monkeys.Millions of years ago, half of Africa dried out, eliminating the forest and becoming grassland and savannah. Now,the "monkeys" in the non-forested area were no longer suited so well.A tail didn't help much, not much swinging from tree to tree.NOW,the ones who stood a little more upright were more likely to survive,as they could see the tiger first and run like hell, survive, and reproduce.
Therefore, those who stood straightest in general were able to live long enough to reproduce, each generation standing just a little more upright than the last. The tail was useless to them from a survival standpoint and thus,no biological imperative to pass it on.(YOU still have an itty bitty tail, yes you do)
Other survival traits, like social behavior(strength in numbers)and toolmaking, were also passed along.Over time,in the new environment,an entirely new species evolved.Actually several new species(as you call it "half man")evolved, culminating in man.
Meanwhile, the monkeys in the jungle were already suited to a jungle environment, losing the tail, standing upright, would NOT have been beneficial to them,so there they remain, still monkeys.
And that,Virginia,is "why are there still monkeys?"
We have quite a few fossils of hominids, several co-existed,leading to man
Another approach I'll try.Follow me here.
My GRANDFATHER was I.M.amonkey.He had 2 kids.I.M.amonkey jr and Lisa amonkey
I.M jr had a child,named it I.M.amonkeyIII,Lisa amonkey(my mother)married hessa human.They had me,I.M.human
So,if humans came from monkeys, why wouldn't there still be monkeys?get it?

Evolution doesn't say that people evolved from monkeys. That is a myth perpetuated by creationists to discredit evolution. We did, however, evolve from primitive apes, and monkeys also evolved from primitive apes, which is why we're related.
The reason monkeys exist is because the primitive apes underwent "divergent evolution" which occurs when one species splits into two or more separate species. The original apes we evolved from are no longer alive.
We don't have hair because we no longer have a need for it, and it is a survival advantage for humans to not have a lot of body hair.
There are lots of transitional fossils between humans and primitive apes. Here is a website with links to several:

This just shows that you aren't educated. "Monkeys" is just a gerneral term. We evolved from prehistoric man that had monkey traits. And guess what? There are fossils. How do you think we know about them? Also, you share like 98% of your DNA with modern apes, so maybe you are a monkey after all!

Don't worry, we don't think you're smart. It is very obvious that you did not pay attention in science class as well. The theory of evolution never states that we evolved from monkeys. It very simply says that humans and monkeys shared a COMMON ancestor, monkeys went one way, humans another. I know you are not a monkey and neither am I. (Our DNA however is almost exactly the same as a monkeys though, 99% similar in fact.)

Humans didn't evolve from monkeys. We evolved from a kingdom that was similiar to primates. We are a branched species that shared a similiar kingdom, phylum, class, and order; other than that we are totally different.
Edit:
It is okay to ask a question. So now you know, plus do a simple search such as Wikipedia.

Go back to ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BIOLOGY and learn the fundamental basics of evolution. Evolution is NOT automatically a "replacement" process. It is very often radiative in nature--new niches get occupied while the parent species stays in the old niche. Can it really be SO HARD to figure out??????
Second, we DO have such fossils. Your ignorance of them is no excuse.
Third, we DO have hair all over us--look at your own arms. It's just rather fine hair.
Your questions are those of the extremely uneducated and are an embarrassment to all of us Christians who were not too stupid to pay attention in the most BASIC of ELEMENTARY SCHOOL science courses.

You really must crack open a few books and watch the science channels more...there are fossils of "hominids" whose skulls have similar features to apes...many people on this planet according to their genetic heritage have hair all over their bodies...there is no empirical evidence that we descended directly from apes but there is evidence that we evolved from hominids with similar features to apes...and lost the major portion of our body hair in the process...
Follow the link...
http://anthro.palomar.edu/hominid/australo_2.htm
I don't agree with all of the theories but there is some genetic evidence that can be substantiated...
