If there were such a thing as hypothetical organized religions, it would seem more likely that "me-ism" (that is, worship of self) would eclipse all others on earth today.
(2 Timothy 3:1-2) . But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves

I hope not. Religion is about homogenization in the name of faith. Under no circumstances would I want the human brain to be crippled by such mechanisms, or all atheists to follow a single code.
A lack of belief is not a religion in itself, thankfully.

No it would not be the biggest belief system because there are so many religions out in the world.

omg I hate the 'it's not a religion' nazis.
the question is IF it were an organised religion.
if it were recognised as a particular denomination, and accepted as such with the same legal benefits as other such religions such as marriage tax benefits and things, then it would. who knows how many people officialy christian or muslim are really atheists, they always get recorded as belonging to that faith.
If a religion is a belief system, then atheism is one also. All religions are schools of thoughts, if you don't believe in a god then seriously, what sepperates a religion from a school of thought?

Yes and no. No in that it wouldn't officially be the biggest belief system (I'm guessing) and yes in that most theists are actually atheists (they just deny the fact).

What is Atheist-ism? Atheism is the acknowledgment that in the absence of evidence of a god, there is none.

If it makes you feel better to believe this...be my guest. I really don't know what the obsession is with how many people believe the same as you do...do you really need that much reassurance from others?

It's not a religious cult, nor is it a belief system...it is a lack of belief in supernatural deities.
