I can say they have understanding by diligently studying the Holy Scriptures, in fervent prayer, asking for wisdom, understanding, and knowledge of the will of God the Father, through His beloved Son Jesus the Christ.

Not I said the cat.

Although I have read the Bible cover to cover, it is only with prayer and study of particular passages and comparing those passages to other Scripture that, with the illumination of the Holy Spirit, I understand anything at all. Discussion with other Christians and listening for the Lord in music is also a great help to understanding the Word.

I have read the Bible from cover to cover. I`ve also studied it to understand what I read. the more you read and pray and study the more you understand. I have read a verse and got the meaning as it is written down but by studying and rightly dividing the word of truth I`ve looked at the same scripture and got a more deeper meaning. You get out of the word what you put into it.

Reading it 'cover to cover' is a start; not a completion point presently though. God can provide 'insights' to what is said in the scriptures. I
believe one will find that the scriptures provides 'different definitions' to some commonly used 'words' (currentlyin USA); thank God!
One must also discern (currently in USA) between scripture ands 'Bible' as they are not the same in the vast majority of cases (I have had to recently 'cut out' certain things in my 'Bibles').

No. One needs to study the word of God. Simply reading from cover to cover will not suffice. It takes a great deal of time to cross reference and to seek the truth that is in the Bible.

Good point, Iron Hnded Faith. It takes more than open eyes and a keen intellect to truly have understanding. If the heart is not open, there is no true understanding.

Well, we sure can't understand it by osmosis from carrying it under our arms! lol Reading it is huge - BUT if you do not have the Holy Spirit living inside you, if you aren't truly born again, you will never understand it. The Bible is Spiritually discerned, so without that Spirit there can be no discerning.

the HOLY GHOST the Spirit of GOD
reveals TRUTH to us

and NOT A MAN

for Jesus said "Peter who do men say i am " Peter said some say a prophet or Elias or such , and Jesus asked who do you say I AM ," and Peter said thou art the CHRIST ( MESSIAH ) the son of the living GOD...and Jesus said , " Flesh and blood hath not revealed this to you but My father which is in heaven "( Spirit of GOD)

FATHER
WORD
HOLY GHOST
ARE ONE

and JESUS is the Father / WORD / HOLY GHOST

I and my Father are one(JESUS) also came in Fathers name
Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (JESUS)
and i will not leave you comfortless but will send the Holy ghost , and it says I WILL COME TO YOU ( JESUS)

JESUS is ONE

ONE GOD
ONE FAITH
ONE BAPTISM

JESUS CHRIST

and YES
one can understand if one is seeking the TRUTH with his whole heart....GOD will reveal the Word to Him
and can let HIM see ALL things accordingly
BY GOds Spirit, not there own

He said " when ye seek me with your WHOLE HEART you will find me "

SEEK / ASK / KNOCK
and IT WILL be OPENED unto YOU !!!
