I am in a significant amount of pain. First, my back hurts like a SOB, not sure what I did to it, but I can hardly walk. Also, my hand hurts cause I think I have arthritis. And I am sick with a horrible sore throat. It's just awful.
Here's the problem. When I was pregnant recently (baby born in Sept) I had a problem where I couldn't walk called SPD. It was so painful. It even hurt to sit/lay down. So I was put on painkillers for my almost entire 3rd trimester. Then after the Csection, I took them and then I broke my finger and had to take some. So I developed a dependancy to them. It was awful. The withdrawal was terrible and I felt like a junkie, which I am not and it was a really bad feeling.
So, since I'm in so much pain, worthy of taking a painkiller, should I take some, or would it be opening doors that I don't want to open. If it was only for a few days, would it still be bad?

get a professional opinion before taking any.

if you can't, take the pain killers.
learn self control and don't touch them unless you need them.
too many painkillers will destroy your liver.

Call the doctor. You need to check out your back. Pain left untreated can get worse and worse and become permanent. Getting off of opioids is easy if you taper, very difficult and miserable if you don't. The key is to only stop a little bit each day. A few days doesn't build up any accomodation.

If you have previously developed an addiction to pain killers, then you would be wise to see a Doc, go to ER, before you even think about popping a pain killer again. Likewise, you do not know the reason for the pain, it might be serious, it might be nothing, but in case it is the former, seek medical attention. Good Luck

This up to you, to suffer or not. Talk to your doctor, he can give you something to moderate your pain and keep an eye on you.
