With colds and other viral infections, fever may be the only symptom for the first 12-24 hours (i.e., viral fevers). The onset of symptoms (runny nose, cough, diarrhea, etc.) are often delayed.
A fever that lasts over 72 hours with no other signs of disease is a definite reason to take your child to the doctor.

kids can tolerate much higher fevers than adults. So I wouldn't worry too much, however, I would keep him home, isolated to prevent spread of any infection he may have. If the fever trends toward 104, give him tepid tub baths, let him play in the tub for an hour or so to cool him naturally, give him children's tylenol and watch him. I'll bet he will soon develop other symptoms.

Wow for 3 days?

Have you taken him/her to the Doctor?

Last time my daughter got that sick I got her to the Doctor, at the advise of a cousin.
Doctor admitted her to childrens and said if I hadnt brought her in, she could have been dead in 12 hrs.
Of course she was significantly younger to though.

Also,

You might want to check and see if it hurts in his armpits or his legs, you know muscles etc. and if it does then definitly get him/her in immediatly.

Usually if a fever lasts more then a couple of days, then there is something attacking the immune system and the body is trying to fight it off.

But the longer a fever last, the worse it can get.

Most likely I think the body is trying to fight off an Infection and symptoms are soon to follow. Don't worry yet, maybe just a little cold on its way. Push the fluids and chicken noodle soup. Maybe able to kill the germ before symptoms set in.

If his fever is that high, call his doctor! He is obviously fighting some infection. Make sure he is drinking plenty of fluids, since it doesn't take long for children to dehydrate. I hope he feels better soon.
